Yes you can, cut it length wise and then cut in to peices, then cut in to smaller pieces, maybe even smaller depending on your child. I also gave my son pizza. Started with just cheese pizza cut in to small peices and never gave him the hard crust. Try spaghetti o's, grilled cheese and peanut butter(if no allergies) & Jelly Sandwiches oh and you can try chicken nuggets
Keep going with the fruits and veggies, if your child is eating them now....GREAT!!!!! Keep that up as long as you can. This is a fun time, at this age you child can try many different foods, have fun with it.

Your son seems to have a very healthy diet. I hope you realize that hotdogs are far from the nutritional value of what he is used to eating. Since he has had only fruits and vegetables, I guess you're thinking it would be good to introduce meat. And since hotdog is meat and is quite soft, it's probably a good choice? Well, not quite. If you really want to give him meat, it would be best if you avoid processed meat. The preservatives are not good for his tender digestive system and the strong flavor may actually make him choosy on his food (goodbye vegetables). Just prepare something you've cooked (with minimal seasoning) and just make sure that it's really soft and cut up in very small pieces.

Why not. I have kids ranging from 4-12 and they all ate hot dogs at a young age. However, keep in mind that the throat of a 1 year old is smaller so you need to cut the hot dog. Cut it in half lenght or even in quarters. Then you and your child should be ok.
But don't forget to never leave the child unattended while its eating.

You shouldn't give an 11 year old child a hot dog!! Those are horribly, empty calories with almost no nutritional value. Give her cheese or turkey or chicken instead. Processed foods given at this young an age can encourage a lifetime of bad eating habiits.

Well, if your want to you can. Just as long as you cut the hot dog into many small pieces. I work at a Daycare center and we have given one year olds hot dogs cut up into little pieces. But, hot dogs are still considered a choking hazzard. So, I would be there watching your child while he/she ate it.

It amazes me when I see some people give their children poor diet. You wonder why they have health issues such as obesity, diabeties, and who knows what other problems related to poor eating habits. Eating healthy doesn't mean you have to slave all day in the kitchen. I'm not against eating hot dogs, but since he is still so young why don't you give him a head start on eating healthy diet. It gets to me when I see moms out there pulled out cookies, chips, and junk food for their children instead of fruits or veggies for snack. What's wrong in giving them those healthy snacks? It'll save them a whole lot of health issues later on in life. Just my 2 cents. Now don't jump on me for saying this. I'm speaking of what I usually see out there.

I've given my 11 month old a hot dog before and he loved it! I just cut it into quarters. It was hard to do, but it worked. :) He didn't like the mustard that went with it though. LOL
