They are only 3 or 4 years old, why the big concern about insect bites? Are you sure its not more then that? Something doesn't sound right about this. Particularly when you say over the counter only. You sure you are not abusing them and want to cover up the scars and bruises. If its just insect bites hydrocotizone will do to get rid of them. Scars will fade with time and cocoa butter is good to put on them. All over the counter.

First, give them time to see how they heal on their own. It takes at least a year for lacerations and abrasions to completely heal. If your kids have scars when they are older and are concerned about their appearance, there are several scar creams out such as Mederma which can be found in the drug section of almost any store.

When my daughter had surgery the surgeon suggested Mederma to lesson the scarring - you can buy this in the drug store. But I know from experience that the little scrapes and bug bite scars will eventually fade away. Mine have.

You know I personally don't think you should waste your money on that mederma crap. I used it for stretch marks and it did not really help me. Besides that I was a tomboy when I was little and always had scars and bruises and scrapes and breaks and they all eventually disappeared. Just some advice. Maybe ask your pediatrician

maderma for kids gets scars invisible, and off is a good repelant. avoid using it on their faces and hands and dont spray it on them, spray it on your hands and rub it on them so they dont inhale it.
