Take him to a Specialist at a LEADING UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL.... My son wasn't diagnosed with Autism till he was 6 . He did not speak till he was 5 but then he was using words that a college student would use ... I know I would be worried about the not walking thing because that could mean that the problem is nuerological in nature. RUN to a Teaching Hospital... I know of 2 that I can think of that are excellant... Riley Childrens Hospital, Indianapolis , Indiana. + Childrens hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Good Luck and May GOD bless your Family!

Gosh, that's a tough one. Are you letting him stay in a walker or stationary play seat? If so, this may explain why he isn't walking yet. If you aren't already doing this, make sure to give your son plenty of time on the floor (on a rug or something) and also hold his hands and try to help him learn.

If you have been trying to teach him to walk and talk, and it's not working, go to another hospital for a second opinion. You may even suggest that they run tests just to be safe.

This situation is really alarming for parents. as early as 10 months babies learn to grasp walking. by 2 years old babies should be able to talk some 2 syllable words such as mama, papa, dada, etc.
There could be some complications or other related illness that the child is experiencing, which hampers his development. Just a piece of advise, change your pedia, its kinda fussy knowing that your doctor cant figure out wants your child problem.
Ill be hoping for your child wellness and God bless you.

something i have been told on more than a few ocassions (possibly just a theory) is that the smartest people wait to walk and talk up untill the extreme of 5. Don't immediately assume that its a physical problem. He could end up being the next einstein.

my son just 4 about 2 weeks ago and he still does not talk the way he is supposed to our doctor said that he is just having some delay-es but would grow out of it. we take him to a speech teacher at the local hospital and she has done wonders with him , i was so scared that my little one would never talk. their is a special hospital in st.Louis Missouri that helps with kids and some times you don't have to pay ..

Well....Einstein did not speak until he was four,so,it may just be he will talk when he has something to say. Now,on a more serious note,i would have him checked for Autism. This might be a symptom and perhaps you might want to go online to the several web sites and get information.

how much time do you spend with him? if you talk baby talk that's what they learn. if your all tied up with other stuff how can he make the necessary brain connections. most times I've seen this that's what it is . unless there is a real physiological problem. the only way to tell is to consult a doctor
