My four year old daughter told me that she doesn't want to live with me anymore. She said that she wants to live with her dad. She doesn't even listen to me anymore. I am afraid that all of her actions will affect her younger sister. What do I do about this? Please help me!

Childcare programs seem to be only for single parents. I'm married, working paying all my bills, rent, utilities etc, doing everything right but my wife and I we get turned down for any type of assistance. It's almost like we're beeing punished for beeing married. She wants to go to school and work, but with the price of daycare, I probably would need to take another job, or my wife's earnings if she get a job would barely pay for the day care, then what would be the point If she's already taking care of our daughter at home. Any suggestions? I'm not looking for handouts, just some help. My wife is even considering divorce or separation because that would qualify us for some help. That can't be right. There has to be something for us out there. Please, any suggestions?

My three year old daughter is very independent If she doesn't get her way she will cry no matter what it is about. When I do try to discipline her she thinks it is funny. She doesn't listen, however my soon to be 2 year old does listen if she isn't around her sister. I don't know how to deal with this. I love my kids but sometimes I can't stand to be around them because they just don't listen. She won't try to learn her abc's or numbers because she tells me she doesn't need to. I have spent a lot of money for books that I thought would be fun but she isn't interested b/c I ask her to do it. I know she is very smart just by her talking to me. She has a need to change her sister's diaper ( and does it very well) but when it comes to listening to me or her father it is non existent. If anyone can help me that would be great.

This problem, just started a few days ago, and now I feel like pulling my hair out. He spits at his 5 year old brother all the time now. I ask him why he did it, and it's aways because his brother said or did something that he didn't like. I've tried over and over again to tell him that it's not nice to spit at people, I've told him that only people who are gross and pigs spit at other people, I've put him in the corner for it, and I've made him sit in time-out for it. What else can I do?

I have a 2 year old son that had motor and speech delays. He receives services for these, but the most perplexing thing now is that he will ONLY eat starches. My son will not eat vegetables, fruits or meat. His diet consists of potatoes, bread, waffles and oatmeal. We are to see the GI specialist soon, as the ped thinks that he has acid reflux. We have tried withholding the foods he will eat thinking that when he was hungry he would eat. He did not eat for almost 3 days.

Has this happened to anyone else?

My daughter just turned one. She is now walking fairly well (walks around the room mostly avoiding obstacles but still tripping and falling occasionally). She walks just fine barefoot or wearing Robeez (the soft soled shoes that look like ballerina slippers that cinch at the ankle). but every "regular" shoe I've put her in she stumbles around terribly falling over and over. She is starting daycare in August, so I need to find her a shoe because they have daily outdoor playtime. Any help from someone with experience would be greatly appreciated.

I am blessed to have parents who care for my child while I work. But no matter what healthy foods I prepare for meals and snacks, I come home to find they ignored what I left and fed my child cookies and other junk. I would not mind if this was once in a while, but this is 5 days a week! I have thrown out the junk food they purchase, told them I want my child fed what I prepare - no good. Please, and good ideas will help!
