My 22 month granddaughter was breastfed and didn't take to bottles. My daughter decided to try her with a straw and so at 8 months she used cups with the straw instead and she does very well.

There is a sippy cup from Nuby at Walmart that is a bit of a cross between a sippy and a bottle. That may help.

Don't fret the whole sippy/bottle thing yet. There is nothing wrong with him wanting to stick with his bottle for a while. Don't push it for a while then re-intoroduce the sippy in a month or so.

Yes lol All children like and dislike different things. You may want to try a different kind of sippy cup. Ones with soft mouth pieces are the best for children that young, especially when adjusting from breast or bottle. My kids always had a thing for cups with straws (which you can find in the sippy cup variety too) but those obviously aren't real spill proof.

if he doesn't like it then cut the sippie and the bottle all together and go to a straw cup or a regular cup. The straw will take some getting used to but once he gets it he'll be in heaven. The sippie is probably just too much work. My daughter hated them too.

give the child a regular cup!

giving a sippy cup is exactly the same as giving a bottle, the child has to suck to get anything out, and they cause dental problems just like a bottle does.

if your child cant control a cup well enough yet give the "sippy cup" but throw the valves away or just buy the old fashioned infant cups with a spout

Yes, all kids take a while to get them used to the cup. If you start giving him a cup you can't give him a bottle again. If he knows he can get his bottle back, even if he doesn't use the cup, there is no reason for him to drink out of it. The day I took away bottles permanently from my daughter and gave her a cup wasn't that bad. When they get thirsty enough they will use it.

Yes this is very normal. It is something different and it takes time. A bottle is a baby's security. Try using one of th straw sippy cups that is all my daughter will use. Good luck

yes it's normal. He is still a little too young to take away the bottle. Give him another month or two. Then slowly take the bottle away and replace it with drinking out of a plastic cup with very little in it. The major thing to remember slow is the key.
