They are 8 and 7 and she asked them about me leaving them alone. I leave them alone when I go to school Wed. mornings I leave for school at 7:45 but they don't leave until 8am. So there is a 15 minute window there.

Anyway, they told the truth, and I haven't heard a word about it. None has contacted me. (Its been 2 days). wondering if I should expect a visit from them or what? Did they just decide not to bother?

I was wondering if any of you parents know any clues on how to handle your child during shot time! My daughter is about to turn 3 in December. I really hate taking her in for this because I don't even like shots myself! Any tips on how to help her out. I know you must give your child some pain reliever medicinel before and after to help the pain. Any other suggestions?

You know sexuality is a part of being a human, kids these day are not only having sex, they're getting married at such an early age. If you can have these two choices, which one would you choose for your child?
1. Early marriage, but children must have abstinence before marriage?
2. Have premarital sex but choose not to get married until they're emotionally mature.
I would personally let my child to choose #2, because first I will be a hypocrite to tell my son or daughter to close their leg, because I had sex before marriage, secondly I feel they shouldn't get married if they're emotionally immature. It's a bigger commitment than having sex.
I understand alot of parents would say I want neither I want my kids to stay a virgin and get marry later. but ask your self that you're being reasonable, can your children really wait that long.

I just read about the new toys to be recalled...and I'm sure it's not over yet by far.. I was shopping for toys for my baby boy however the other day and it's almost impossible to find anything NOT made in China! I guess it's time to go to smaller quality toy stores that sell safe wooden toys etc..

I am not saying everything made in China is bad but unfortunatly I can't know what is and what's not and the safety of my son comes first so I'll avoid "made in China" labelled stuff at least for a while. (I wonder if Mattel can recover from this)

How does this affect you?

If you child can home from their other parents house in underwear that reaks of stale urine and/or has chunks of feces stuck to the inside and outside, would you consider that neglect? Or very poor parenting skills? The child in question is 7 years old, and has been potty trained for well over 3 years.

If you need food , clothes, or something important and your toddler starts crying .I have seen some people answer to take the kids out of there,Like they were never a toddler once.I guess the family should go hungry because the child needs to be taken out side and it is more important for others to be comfortable. Not all toddlers settle down and stop crying so the parent can go back in and get another chance to shop. Not all kids respond to hugs to calm down, especially mine she gets so many hugs and kisses at home it will not work in public. She wants to help shop instead that is what keeps her calm. There are sometimes when she does cry and a little bit and someone looks at me like toddlers do not belong. Please !! I do not think so.

Our daughter is 6.5 years old and has always slept with us. We are now trying to make her sleep in her own room, but we are having a lot of trouble. She screams for HOURS (3 or more) and then finally falls asleep. Then after about 2 hours, she will awake again- and start screaming. We have asked her what is wrong, but she continues to point to our room, and we do our best to explain she is a big girl now and needs to sleep in her won bed...but she screams and keeps us up all night and is not getting any sleep herself. We have tried buying her her own special bed, night lights, special "spongebob" pajamas, tv, everything we can think of.
Please help!

I am writing a paper for a class and needed some help.
The subject of my paper is on generation differences between parents and kids. I chose to do my paper on personal expression.

So my question is do you as a parent have a tattoo or piercing (other than ears)
What tattoo or piercing(s) do you have and how do your kids feel about it?

To judge people on their age when they are mothers, or are pregnant. I am a young mom and I have had so many people judge me on my age because I was 14 whenever I got pregnant with my daughter who is now 5 months old. I think young moms should be treated equal to mothers who are not teen moms.

This last weekend my daughters and I attended a birthday party that had a costumed character come visit. I was not notified that this character would be making a guest appearance at the party, along with a professional photographer. Now, I have caught wind that the parent (who hosted the party) has signed a waver with the character/photographer company allowing them (the company) to use any and all pictures taken at the party for promotional purposes- be it their website, advertising mailers, phonebook, newspaper, etc. I am upset because this parent did not check with me before signing this waver! MY kids are in almost all the pictures... I have 2 absolutely beautiful girls, and the thought of my daughters’ pictures being used where ever and whenever makes me very uncomfortable! I can’t approach this mother because she is so unbelievably sensitive, she would turn this into a fight, so I called the owner of the company and voiced my concerns..

I know there are many people who wait later in lives to have kids, but I'm 34 and husband is 38. We are looking at conceiving within the next two years. If that happens, we will be 46 and 50 with a 10 yr. old, 56 and 60 with a 20 yr old. Did we miss our window of opportunity? It just seems like we will be too old...

Me and several co-workers were just debating about this issue. If a boy is raised by his mother, in a single parent home, and his father is not in his life at all, do you think he stands a greater chance of being gay? In some ways, I can see how this could be true because most women tend to be over-protective of their children. Most women are gentle and some of them tend to treat their sons like one of the girls. Especially when there is no other man in their son’s life. Not every kid has an uncle or a cousin that they can be around.

What is your opinion on this matter?

I will start a job soon, and i get out at 3:00 PM. My son gets home between 3:00 and 3:15PM. I will be home by 3:10PM. So he would only be home alone for 10 to 15 minutes. I've asked him, and he says he feels comfortable and that he is ready. He is intructed to call me as soon as he gets home, and we are practicing him opening the door, and his 10 minute routine when he gets home. He doesn't have to walk from a bus stop, since it drops him off right at out doorstep. So I'm wondering if there are other people out there who have done the same, and what they thought.

I still rock my 18 month old son to sleep (naptime & bedtime). I would really like for him to fall asleep on his own. How can I transition him to fall asleep on his own??

Just curious~ How old was your child when you were able to simply say goodnight & lie him/her in the crib/bed??

My friend has a baby boy that is almost 15 months old. Her mom does almost whatever she wants to do with the baby. She has given him gum when he wasn't even a year old. She laughs when he spreads his food all over his highchair tray and my friend is trying to teach him not to do that. Last night they went out to eat and almost as soon as he was done eating, his grandmother picked him up to turn him upside down and my friend told her mom not to do that because he would throw up. Sure enough, he did about 5 minutes later and the grandmother just said "well at least it didn't get on me". My friend says her mom won't listen to her about anything she tells her about the baby, because she thinks she knows everything. What would you do to make your mom abide by your wishes when it came to your child? I don't know what to tell her or what can be done.

This guy asked me if I was interested in him painting our house number on the curb. I said no thanks. He then asked if my parents were home to ask. I said, no we are not interested. (I'm 25 yrs old, and have a child myself!) lol I really just wanted to get rid of him, but should I have stated I was the parent? Now I kind of freak myself out as what I should have said, or wonder if he'd try to break in because he thinks I'm the child, and home alone (he did see our 2 yr old son).

My friends husband is spanking her 2 month old twin babies. Everything on here says to start spanking early, but to me this is just plain sick and abusive when they are so tiny. I dont think they are old enough to even do anything deliberately wrong, so I dont think this is right and I plan on going and giving him a strong talking to. They are so little, the biggest is just over 9 lbs! Their butts arent even big enough for two fingers! It makes me feel ill...I know my friend hates it and told her husband to stop. I told her to get away from there if it goes on any further, and told her she could come stay with me for a while. I dont know if I am doing the right thing, but in my heart, I am afraid for the little ones.
