Work. Because high school isn't that hard. It's dismissed at 2:30, for goodness sake. No way they're getting sent home with 8 hours worth of homework. No need to work 40 hours a week, but I worked at least 20 from age 16 on. I learned responsibility and work ethic. It was a good experience.

It is going to depend on the teenager and the situation. Some teens have no problem keeping A's while working but for some it would be impossible to get good grades and work. Ask yourself these questions, Is school easy for me? Do I get excellent grades with little effort? Is a good university in my future?Do I need lots of time to do homework and keep up with my assingments? Can I prioritize what is important? Are you willing to give up time with friends? Do you have a money problem? Think hard. Try it and if it doesn't work out then you know your limitations.

I think that during the school year, teens should be focused on studying and extra curicular activities that will help them in life(especially important for getting into college not just grades but that you participated in activities and volunteered). During the summer though, I think they should get a job and work to earn cash for whatever so they aren't hitting you up all school year because they want to go out for pizza and buy new video games. It's also a lesson in long term money management.

i think deppending on what they are studying they should try and do both evene if work is only part time because it means that u wil be use 2 working and have some type of work refrence behind u and also u get less lazy and more ways of getting money etc so my opinion is teenagers should do both even if its a small hours of work gets u use to later on life

I think they SHOULD WORK work at least during summer time. I have two kids who never work while going to high school and college. One of them worked once during summer and did not work again while going to school. I wanted them to work so they'll know how it is to earn a living and to give them resposibilities but my husband did not want them to work, he just wanted them to go to school full time. When someone has work experience it's easier to get hired when looking for a job. (Some students work because they have to, but if someone has to work it should be where they have enough time to study).

Work AND concentrate on their studies. You can do both. Once my kids reach legal age to work [depends where we are at...] they will be encouraged to get a job. Allowance will be cut off. Teens need to learn personal responsibility. They need to understand finances before they move out of the house. They need to learn to balance their lives.

You bet your sweet **** teenagers should work. I had a job when I was 15. It seems as if school has become more difficult over the years, but it's good for teens to hold a job. It wakes them up a bit for the real world. Gets them ready to handle multiple responsibilities.

When my kids are old enough, they will be getting jobs. There's no way they'll milk off us. They want money to spend, go out and earn it.

It would depend on their grades and how much effort it took to get them, but I think work is a big part of our education. It teaches responsibilty, how to get along with others, how to manage money, and much more that you just can't get from a book.

I THINK THEY SHOULD JUST CONCENTRATE ON THEIR STUDIES... THIS WAY THEY CAN GET A BETTER EDUCATION, GO TO COLLEGE AND REALLY BECOME SOMETHING.... (LIKE I WISH I WOULD HAVE)....
THERE IS PLENTY OF TIME TO WORK, AND NOW-A-DAYS, YOU NEED A DEGREE FOR EVERYTHING!
