if I wait till I'm done college I'll be 37. I'm afraid that's too old (considering baby's health, ability to conceive etc) but I'm also afraid the work load of college and baby will be too much. Anyone with this experience?

My daughters 7th birthday was last weekend. We had it at home, a fairy theme, and I hired a 'Tinkerbell' fairy queen to entertain the kids. The thing is, it cost x dollers per child who attended (after the nominal fee). That was fine, but I explained this in the invites (which were given out 3 weeks ahead of the date), and asked for definite RSVP's from parents. On the day of the party, 8 parents who hadn't RSVP'd showed up and dropped their kids off, 1 mom even dropped off her other 3 kids, another mom dropped off her 9 month old! Am I right to be annoyed, is that incredibly rude or am I over reacting? I stressed on the invites that a fee must be paid per child, which is why RSVP was so important, I ended up paying out an extra $235 on the day to cover all the extra kids! Should I say something? Obviously I know not to invite them again, but to the parents who dropped off the extra siblings as well, do you think it's worth saying anything?

I have a 2 yr. daughter, anyone who knows me would tell you that I am a good mother....except my in-laws. My daughter loves her grandparents to death, and my father in law will come and get her for a couple hours a day. He "tries" to be controling and overbearing, sometimes I just let it go to keep the peace. Today he really got under my skin and we had kind of a falling out. He came to pick up my daughter and seen that I had a hair dryer plugged in in my daughters room, he started saying that it didn't need to be plugged in and this and that, I blew him off and went about my way. When he brought her back he didn't say a word just walked in went in her room jerked it out of the wall, flew all over me!! I told him don't you think I know how to raise my own child, he said no, and we got into it, he left pretty quick. My problem is, I'm thinking of telling him that until he knows how to act in my house, he isn't picking my daughter up, does that sound mean, what would you do??

I have 4 daughters. I use spanking as discipline in my home. I usually spank on clothed bottoms, but sometimes I spank on the bare (when they're really bad). What do you think (please don't condemn me, just give your opinion). Doesn't anyone else spank like this?

im not jealuse...i just think its RIDICULOUS for a highschool kids to drive such a luxery car such as benz, bmw, infinity, ect....makes NO SENSE at all!

...if your wondering what kind of ferrari it was it was the Ferrari F430 Spider.

a program that would match families with young teenaged girls that are seeking to get pregnant or are already pregnant?

It would be similar to an exchange student program, where the family would have to pass a homestudy and background check, etc.

The purpose would be to hopefully show these children what raising children is really like-not all about hairbows and attention and new babies, but toddlers having tantrums, little sleep, etc.

I was just wondering if there was such a program, or if others thought it would be a good idea.

My girlfriend and I have been dating for 3 years and naturally, we're already talking about marriage and having kids. So what started out as sort of a joke, might become reality. We want to name our kid, if it's a boy, Dragon. What do you guys think about this name? I guess he'll have to learn Karate! We're white so he obviously wont look Asian... however, his name will be Dragon. Will kids make fun of him?

I have been having major problems with my 4 and 5 yr old girls over the last few weeks. They have been getting on their bedroom furniture and jumping off, tearing up their books and toys, not minding at all,and getting up extremely early and taking things from the house that do not belong to them. We have tried talking to them about why what they are doing is wrong( suuch as if you jump of the dresser you could really hurt yourself. Break your arm or leg and have to go to the hospital. And that would hurt very bad and make daddy and mama very sad that you hurt yourself.) We have tried time outs, taking away priveleges like not getting to play with their slip and slide, spanking, if they do something good they are rewarded. I am at wits end. Well this morning I guess I finally lost it somewhat. I have taken all their toys away since they are tearing them up anyway and told them that they had to earn them back. I took out the furniture except for matresses so they cant jump off

I just cant understand why people leave their parents to old home? They should remember that their parents were did their best for devoloping their children's future, even if they have such a limited economic boundation, they sacrifice their whole life for children but when they bcome old, these so calld children throw them to OLD HOME for saying they are thorn of their freedom. Why? why they do like this? They should remember that one day they will also become old and what will happen, if their children will throw them like this? some men says becouse of their wifes wish I have to leave my parents.. But I dont thing this is a strong reason, if man have that afection for their parents no one can sand old parents away from home.

Last year my 9 year old son (forth grade) wrote the F word on the restroom wall at school. His punishment was no restroom privileges for a day. Be basically had to stand against the wall while everyone else went at each restroom break. So he had to hold it from 7:30 in the morning until he got home at 3:30 pm. I was told of this punishment, but was told if it could not be used he was getting suspended for two day. I agreed making sure he did not drink allot at breakfast. He made it without wetting himself, but peed for a long time. He said he was fine until after lunch back in class. I feel now I should have let him be suspended. What do you think? Being suspended would have gone on his permanent record.

cousin fell pregnant with her second baby. My family were mostly ok with me telling them what I was planning to do, but not overly supportive/encouraging. After my cousin announced her pregnancy, EVERYBODY in the family started buying her gifts, asking about her ultrasounds, etc. Nobody has shown any interest in my adoption. The popular 'excuse' is "we don't know if it's a girl or a boy, and the age". I agree on the girl/boy thing, but plenty of people buy for a baby not knowing the sex, right? And I've requested a child between 2 and 4. That's not a huge age difference. Plus, I've told everyone many times that I'm buying a whole bunch of stuff, they could have asked me for a couple of ideas from what I planned to buy? Am I being petty, or do you think it's fair to feel upset? I don't want anything major, just a stuffed toy, or a washcloth from a dollar store, anything to say they care!

Recently a mother and her bf were arrested after her three year old was sent to a childrens hospital with a severly deformed ear and a chewed off lip.
Her excuse for letting her bf do this?
"he's abusive"
Is that ever and acceptable excuse for letting someone hurt your child? The doctor says plastic surgery is out because the damage is so bad.

I have been down this road before, but I am fed up. These teenagers are getting out of hand. There parents are not taking responsiblity. It's like living in the middle of a sex park. The kids are constantly smoking, doing drugs having sex on the neighbors lawns (not mine) drinking parting and there parents don't care. I heard today the parents talked to there son before they went away , they said "Now you have fun, here are daddys credit cards and we will see you in a month were going to the Hamptons. Mow Mow " and then they just left. Now there son is smoking weed and peeing in my yard. Oh and there is a twist, everyone on the block has to be nice to this "kid" because he is "special ed". Bull**** this kid is undressing and urninating and fighting in the street and I have to be nice no way in he double bruins hockey sticks. Anyway to teach this future JV Hall kid a lesson?
