My daughter is 5 yrs old and only seen her biological father a handful of times as a newborn so she has never 'met' him.I orginally asked my daughters biological father to keep his distance till our daughter was a little bit older about age 6 or 7 for them to meet.I did this because her father is a Russian business man Not a U.S citizen(works in banking)who travels a lot and i did not want my daughter to be confused. But he still sent presents and money for her.My daughter in return sent him her art work with some cards and both of them have seen photos of each other.I also married someone else she knows as her step dady or other daddy whom i am now divorcing after 4 yrs they did not get along well.I spoke with my daughters real father and he is very willing to take the time out to see his daughter. How do introduce them slowly and how?I think with my upcoming divorce this important. Also her father spent time in Russian prison and has a odd essortment of tatoos which will scare her?

I have new babysitter I have had her for two weeks now. It could just me or some thing is really wrong. Every time I take my kids up to the babysitters as soon as my daughter see house she goes straight into crying and screaming and when I get her in the house it just gets worse. Now my son doesn't mind it tell I start to leave. This is usually this is not normal for my children. Ya, they might have an out burst once in awhile because they want to stay with mom but this is recurring every day. I am not sure what si going on and not sure how to find out if some thing is going on. Any suggestions or thoughts on the matter would be great because I am going insane trying to figure this out.

Since our parents were very strict with us we were very lenient with our children. We did not want them to suffer as we did. We brought them up as friends. Now, they have become spoiled brats having no respect, regard for us. The always argue and back answer.
Did we make a mistake of sparing the rod?

parents should be able to spank their children if they feel that it's necessary

kids in America manipulate their parents as they wish and harass them so why are there still laws against spanking your own children

Why are people not doing something about it, do they like been powerless against their children and having to ASK them to behave

what do you do when your child back-tacks to you and defies you? do you just stand there and swallow your pride

I took the kids (4, and 4) to the park yesterday-- we live in central tx and finally got out from under that rain cloud!!
I was watching them play on the climber and this other child kept smacking them around! The boy was probably their age. The kids are not very confrontational so at first they would just move away. He would not stop! Following them around pushing and hitting. My kids are looking at me like "hello? where is his warning? His time out? he's HITTING me!" So then I stood closer to them, hoping my presence would deter him. Nope!!!
His mother was sitting on the bench watching/reading a novel. What the h e l l? I finally walked over and took his hands and said in my best stern voice "No hitting!" And led my kids to the swing. The other mother called her son over and they left! What on earth? What is proper etiquette for this??

Ok, he's not that bad really. I only get very angry with him because he overacts too much and try to be too sweet to mom every so often, that mom actually finds him annoying as well. And he's a bit spoiled as well: if he doesn't get what he wants, he throws a stupid tantrum which angers dad and that's why he gets spanked alot.
The things we fight about (me & him) includes the time limits on using my computer, video games, and doing general household chores. When it comes to chores, he is lazy -- if mom tells him to wash dinner's dishes he won't, so I'm either stuck washing them (even if it's not my turn -- we're on a "schedule" chores plan) or one of the family members is (i.e. mom, dad, aunt). He doesn't even bother to fix his bed after rising in the morn, & he has to be told to eat breakfast / lunch / dinner at the right time (because he eats very late: i.e. breakfast at half past eleven!).
Oh, & he doesn't listen, nor respects almost anyone in the house....

I have a heart condition, which could lead to a sudden heart attack at anytime. Some days are way worse than others. My husband is a trucker and is only home on the weekends. We call each other frequently but if he cals a lot and gets no answer he just assumes I'm resting. I have taught my daughter what to do if mommy doesn't wake up, but she is autistic and it caused her a lot of problems. She stopped eating sleeping has tummy aches ect, from worry. I honestly don't think she'd call 911 if something happened and my son is only 21 mo old. What more can I do to prepare them, so that if I craok they aren't alone in a house w/ a corpse for a week? That would seriuosly mess them up.

I have 6 children ages 8, 13, 16, 18, 19, & 20. They all live at home still while going to college, school and working part time. The problem is that this is summer & school is out, college girl is on break, & part time job boy starts college in the fall. My husband and I want to be romantic & just plain have sex but there are kids everywhere at all hours of the day and night. We could take a little trip, but not every time we want sex. My husband wants it 4-6 times a week & we have thin walls & nosy kids. I suppose he could stuff a sock in my mouth to keep me quiet but that would take all the fun out of it. With no school schedule to get them in bed at a decent hour they run amuk all night long. My husband claims to have blue balls constantly & is very cranky all the time. Besides offering him the bag of frozen peas I keep in the freezer for medical emergencies I just don't know what to tell him. Any suggestions? And please don't worry about me getting preg again, I had my tubes tied.

being spoiled and then not being spoiled is a cycle in my family and a bad one at that. i was not spoiled. my parents were very spoiled. i wont even go into it, but they throw fits even on christmas if they dont get their way etc. its just awful.

because i wasnt spoiled, i am afraid that i might spoil my kids by giving them everything they want and need, just like my gparents. but then i was thinking i might spoil them too much.

so i was wondering how i can strike a balance and raise a polite child who isnt spoiled. however i dont want to not give them anything nice and make them suffer. i want them to be happy. but how can i make them nice and not arrogant?

i saw this with my friend too. her mom has nothing as a child of 10 children on a farm and she spoiled my friend. i love my friend, but she is obnoxious, looks down on poor people etc. its awful. thinks shes awesome because of her ritzy money. doesnt perceive human values.

how can i avoid this?

thank you.

It's just latley all that i can think about is having babies. I imagine having them and wat they will look like. Ive always felt older than my age but common?! im 19 shouldn't i be out partying not watching my bf's 1 year old sister and my new born brother all the time but its wat i wanna do. I know that most responsible thing to do is wait to get married and have babies but I really want one now. even though i know i shouldnt. Is there anyone else out there who feels this way? or am I alone in feeling this? does anyone think that maybe it's not such a bad idea to have one?I come from a very well off family, I know we could do it emotionally and physically it's just financially I know we couldn't do it alone. Consider the following:

1) Even though there is an intentional "shortage" of the toy at the moment, within 3 months, you will be able to get the toy at any WalMart (in other words, if you wait, the toy will become mass marketed)

2) The toy will become "obsolete" in 3 months and replaced by a better toy.

3)The toy will go down in price within 6 months and readily become available on ebay.

Four year old wants to play outside non stop! I try to let him out as much as I can, and slather him with sunscreen but he can't be outdoors ALL the time! I try to let him be outside as much as possible, we picnic and also try to do a few learning lessons outside-- count the steps to the slide, swing starts with s-- lets SSSSwoosh on the swings etcetera... But he's not the only child-- I have other kids who want to sit and color, or play indoors with their toys. How can I get him to STOP the constant nagging "I wanna go ouuutsiiiide!!!" all day long!? Any ideas??? He's driving me bananas!

exwife thinks my new wife should have no say/involment with our child and should take a back seat to everything. All school/discipline/discussions about my son should be between me and my ex and my new wife should NEVER be involved. My new wife feels the only time i should talk to my exwife is if there is an emergency or a major problem with our son not for everything thing that comes up.Plus my new wife feels left out when i talk to only to my ex about a issue with my son(exampe school problem/sickness).She feels i should tell her the same stuff i tell my exwife but then my ex gets pissed as she feels its none of her concern. The bottom line is they hate each other so much all they can think about is how to make the other one miserable.

the usual in-law complaint. I just want to make sure if I'm being reasonable or not.
After the first month of giving birth, my mother-in-law and I decided to go shopping. . As we were getting back into the car, she started to make comments such as, 'it is a lot safer for the babies to ride in front.' and started to insinuate that she would put him in the front of her car if she drove him anywhere. I just said, 'well, i'm following doctors orders.'. As we were getting on the highway, my baby started to fuss, and it also started to spit rain. Just as I was merging with heavy traffic, she turned around 180 in the front seat and started trying to sooth him. ( mean her rear end was in the windshield, turned around) I asked her to turn around and put on her seatbelt. She started yelling that NOONE tells her what to do and how Dare I ask her to put on her seatbelt. I have this policy of 'my car, my rules'. She has refused to ride with me since. Am I being unreasonable?
