I have 6 children ages 8, 13, 16, 18, 19, & 20. They all live at home still while going to college, school and working part time. The problem is that this is summer & school is out, college girl is on break, & part time job boy starts college in the fall. My husband and I want to be romantic & just plain have sex but there are kids everywhere at all hours of the day and night. We could take a little trip, but not every time we want sex. My husband wants it 4-6 times a week & we have thin walls & nosy kids. I suppose he could stuff a sock in my mouth to keep me quiet but that would take all the fun out of it. With no school schedule to get them in bed at a decent hour they run amuk all night long. My husband claims to have blue balls constantly & is very cranky all the time. Besides offering him the bag of frozen peas I keep in the freezer for medical emergencies I just don't know what to tell him. Any suggestions? And please don't worry about me getting preg again, I had my tubes tied.

Well, I have to say I enjoyed a good smile out of yours. After six kids I'm pretty sure I can't give you advise. We only have one and find if difficult. Have you considered sending them out to relatives for a few sleepovers? Grandma's house for a weekend?
How about TELLING the older ones they need to take the younger ones to the zoo or the museum. It they protest look 'em dead in the eye and say, "Dad and I are about to get frisky". That should run them out of the house pretty quickly! I was the oldest of four and that worked pretty well with me!
Good luck!

One, your kids are all old enough and probably already realize (and have heard) that thier parents have sex. So as long as you are not obvious about it or are going at it when friends are around, my bet is they will be fine. With six kids, I am sure you have had sex plenty when they were all still living home...so this is no different! However, if you do want some alone time to really enjoy one another, all you do is this...arrange for one of the older teens to take the younger kids to the movies and pizza for the night. Point blank tell the older kids that their siblings will be out of the house for X amount of hours, that you and your husband are declaring the house child free for that time so you can be alone. The younger ones will think it is a fun treat and the older ones are old enough to understand and respect your ideas. Lock all the doors once everyone is gone and enjoy.

I think there should not be a problem with your older kids looking after the younger kids for a night or even over night. You have to have that time alone, but from the amount of kids that you have maybe that is the problem. You do alot for your kids , it's only fair that they help you out. I have kids and sometimes i need to helped to be in the mood, a massage really helps with no interruptions. You guys may need a regular night out every 2wks or once a month. Even if it is a walk on the beach or a couple hours down the pub or a get together with friends make it regular.

Well with six kids that is a handfull. If you are worried that kids will hear you lock your door and turn the radio up and go at it. They alreay know that you guys do it (how else have would they have gotten here). If you are too worried about it then give your hubby a hand job.
You are the parent. Plan a day where the kids have to get up early for some sort of outing and tell them they won't go unless they go to bed early and stick with it.
As for the romance part of it you can still have that with the kids around. Just the way my husband plays footsie with me under the table while we eat and the way he looks into my eyes is all that I need.

Sounds like you need to get creative!! I only have one child and she is forever interrupting things. But you have to have fun with it. Your kids are old enough to tell them to go play or do something that you and your husband need to talk in private. Then go to your bedroom or bathroom, turn on some music to help with the noise. Then have fun... use the sink, get in the tub, take a shower together, role play a little(keep the time down). Since you do have older children, ask them to take the little ones out to the park or for ice cream, or to a movie. Explain to the that you need some adult time together. Date nights are wonderful as well. Get a sitter and go out for the evening and rent a hotel room instead of going home. Role play there. It will help more than you know. Hope this helps.

The fact is you have many children of different ages so you must have some idea of how to be romantic with the kids around.
Get the oldest to babysit while you and hubby spend a night away.

If you are close to a theme park, buy them all season passes and tell your older kids to take the younger kids with them. Insist on them going at least twice a month so you can get your money's worth.
While they are being amused on the roller coasters and other thrill rides you and your hubby can make your own amusement and thrills.
Just for the funny of it you two ought to make a couple of theme park trips of your own. Consider a motel stay so you can make a romantic outing of it.
Less expensive option: Send 'em to the movies. Shorter duration, but you guys are young and can work fast.

Yep...I know how you feel. I have 3 adult children in the house and is very difficult at times. You can say you both have a new exercise regimen. Keep an exercise equipment in your love nest. Blast the TV and/or radio volume. Keep them guessing. But gee wiz, kids nowadays aren't naive. So they'll know anyway. But this is better than their parents not getting along and fighting. How can they not know after all they have 5 siblings :-)

Sounds like he is unsure of the marriage. If this is so, then you would not want to bring a child int this world with those doubts. Having children is a blessing but they deserve to have two parents waiting to give it a loving home, not parents uncertain of their feelings. Try to focus on what is it your husband is not sure of. He might need some help from you in getting rid of those doubts. Talk to him about it and ask him what is it he would like to see changed before having a family and work on it if you both love each other.

put a lock on the door and stuff a sock in your mouth if necessary. if you are lucky, his blue balls will burst in 10 - 15 min. hopefully your kids won't need attendance during that time. good luck to you.
