My boys are 4 and 2 years old, and we are expecting a baby this summer. We plan to put the two boys in a room together, but my husband and I are disagreeing about beds. My husband thinks they should have bunk beds, because the room is kind of small and this will free up some space. I think they should have their own twin beds (the oldest has one now, the youngest is still in a crib) mostly because of safety, and I still think there will be enough room for them to play. Any advice from parents in similar situations? What did you do? What do you think about bunk beds?

i am just looking for opinions from anyone and everyone involving this matter. i noticed that this morning they brought up tha fact that some parents have a glass of wine during diner which would b almost the same as having a glass during a playdate. some say its wrong to have a drink during a playdate and others say its okay. i truely do not think that it should be as big of a deal as it has become considering the fact that there are parents who go out to diner and then drive with their children in the car after having a drink or two. i cant see that play date moms are jumping into a car with their children as soon after their drink as parents who are out to diner. just looking for opinions and they are all welcome:)

Have you gotten all your information about me from Yahoo and myspace. Would that be the information THAT I GAVE THEM ? If I was concerned about someone tracking me, do you really believe I would give acurate information? Do I keep using the same computer or skip around? Where am I Kelly? Am I in your house right now. Kelly..... I'm sorry your a frustrated old bat that doesn't get none. I'll continue on my space and talk to anyone who responds. I love to save the pictures and well you know............ I'm sorry this be long deails but i have to tell the entire story. I'm in 7th grade and my brother is in 4th grade and on Friday me mom, dad and brother stayed over at my grandma and grandpas house because we were all going on a trip early saturday morning. We had to leave at 3am. About 8pm my mom made us both go into the den to go to sleep early because she did not want us tired. We really were not that tired so we played around a little and about 9 my mom came in really mad i guess because we were making a lot of noise. She said if she had to come in again we would be sorry. I listened and layed down for bed but my brother started playing around again. 10 minutes later my mom came back in and told my brother he was getting a spanking. He started crying and was telling mom it was me still awake. My mom didn't say anything. She took out the computer chair pulled down his pj pants and spanked him a lot of times on his bare butt. He was going crazy and my mom finally stopped.

i dont mind being a housewife and stay at home mum but i'd love for my daughter to know she can be different to the usual "house wife in the kitchen" if she wants to( i think i was a little scared to be different to my mum as thats all i knew)but its like toy makers are puting baby girls in there place by the toys they make! i mean my daughter has thousands of toys but they are either toy babies with toy prams or little toy kitchens-dishes and all, or theres mops brooms and vacuum cleaners, dustpans and pretend cooking appliences little shopping trollies with pretend food, little toy washing machines with toy clothes lines! i mean i feel like im telling her that this is what females do obviously i dont have to buy those things for her but apart from books and blocks and puzzels which she has lots of its really all you can buy for little girls!!

One of my friends has one child with his ex-girlfriend. Since he visits his daughter at times he also sees his ex-girlfriend—the mother. His ex-girlfriend found out that he had a girlfriend and she told her 5-year-old daughter that her daddy had a girlfriend. So sometimes my friend’s daughter will ask him about his girlfriend. Why did his ex-girlfriend tell their daughter about him having a girlfriend?

We have a neighbor child (6 y.o)who constantly yells my child's name (6 y.o.) every 20 seconds whenever we are both in our backyards (I'm not exaggerating). My child doesn't know always how to respond to the neighbor's constant requests to come to the fence to talk (about nothing). The neighbor child uses threats of I'm not going to be your friend, etc if mine doesn't comply with her wishes. My child does comply alot to her demands but, it is very trying on her; she wants to enjoy her backyard without the constant bombardment from our neighbor. I realize the neighbor girl is looking for attention and someone to play with and I do invite her over to play when I can but, this is getting ridiculous where we can't even enjoy our yard.I would talk to the parent(s) however, a concerned conversation I had about guns in their home and their dog who had bit the woman of the house didn't go over well last year when she asked my child over for a play date (just trying to be a responsible parent).

My daughters father complained that I took her to my grandmothers funeral. He didn't say anything about not wanting her to go until after it was done and over with. I talked to him before we went and while I was at the funeral home. He makes no since to me. Please let me know if he does to you. Our daughter is 4 and she didn't even go near the body. They had a separate room that all the kids stayied in during the cerimony. He won't listen to me on that though. At what age would you take a child to a funeral and what age is it safe to teach a child about death?

I decided not to circumcise my son. It was a difficult decision, but after awhile I realized that my only apprehension to leaving him naturally was about his possibly being rejected in a one-on-one situation with a girl in high school. It seemed superficial.

Since the American Association of Pediatrics no longer supports any health benefits to cicumcision...why do I still question my decision?

I worry about him in the shower room when he's older, but it seems crazy to cut something off just because we've always done it as a society.

He's 3 now...Any advice?

We have two kids and at the moment I'm not working formally (because I honestly wouldn't earn enough to justify the childcare). However, I've found that since I'm at home, everyone else assumes that I'm available to take care of their kids. In an emergency situation, I'd be happy to help out but this is just the regular ' Oh Miriam can go and pick them up/take care of them when they're sick/take them to their ball games' kind of scenario. Quite frankly I'm tired of it and am starting to refuse unless I'm convinced it's an emergency, one-off situation. I do like kids but it's just getting ridiculous. I've been surprised by the rude reactions my refusals are getting. Have you faced this situation and how do you handle it diplomatically?
