You can go into her profile and account settings or either profile settings (one of those options beside where her pic is suppose to go) and click on "BLOCK USER" Then he will not be able to contact her unless she has given her email address to him. Also some good advice is to have her put up a fake town in her profile so noone will be able to locate her. Like on mine I put in the "city" block i wrote "somewhere in" and then chose a stat, nad it's not even the state i live in!
She can also make her prfile "PRIVATE" and delete him from her friends list and no one can see her profile or write to her unless she adds them as a friend!
You should keep a check on her profile and don't let her Add people to her list unless you guys know them. I know everyone on my friends list, but i see nothing wrong with her having an account.... if you want more info email me...
GOOD LUCK.

Your 10 year olds name is frustrated Kelly(?) what a strange user name for her... He thinks shes older you can tell. Notify the police computer investigation department of his email he could be a predator. Why dont you get your 10 year old on Toon town or some other place to talk to friends than myspace.Even runescape is better than myspace.

Lord, there are a lot of jerks answering this question.
Other then MySpace's age limits, there's nothing wrong with your daughter being on the internet, or on MySpace. I began surfing at a very young age (around the same time, 9-10 years old), and never ran into any problems. If someone made me uncomfortable, I ignored them or reported them as abuse.
If this encounter makes you uncomfortable to let her be on MySpace, I'm sure there are programs you can use to restrict the websites she can visit, or you can always direct her toward other sites- such as Neopets- in an attempt to redirect her interests.
There is, also, another website that is similar to MySpace- the URL is http://www.bolt2.com - which caters toward a younger crowd, but runs along the same lines as MySpace.
I was careful enough to never use more then my first name, never give out my address, phone number, or even city I was living in- what you may need to do, is simply address these issues with your daughter, and make sure she understands why safety and remaining anonomous online are so important- that is, if you haven't already. :-)
Contacting the police may be a good idea, but I'm not sure how productive that will be. Still, having a report filed, if it's possible, will be a good idea.
As they say, you cannot prepare the world for your children; you can only prepare your children for the world.

Call the Police. They can track his *** down especially using my space. I had problems like this with my son 11 a few weeks ago. The police dept has a special myspace hand book(that's for law enforcement only) It has contact numbers for the police to call to speak to someone at my space. Myspace has a copy of all comments, emails and everything to share with the police.Whats sad is they wont talk with you only the police. Also why don't you have them delete her myspace account(Like I did my son) Her age alone will make them delete it. The rules say that the child must be 14 to have an account.
GOOD LUCK!!

I think your main concern is that you are
1. Letting your child go onto myspace, where the age restrictions are at 13 and there have been TONS of sexual preditors lately (all over the news).
2. You are not supervising what she does and/or do not have a free shareware program that restricts which sites she visits
He is a perv! You're right! But no matter where your daughter goes she will come into contact with that. It is your job, as the parent, to supervise her computer time or her website access so that she doesn't recieve messages like this.
Also, if you go to pervertedjustice.org like was suggested, you will probably be turned away because when you sign up for the site and it says "you must be 13 to have a myspace account" you are stating that whatever happens to you if you are under 13 is no longer their issue or problem. You are breaking their age restriction clause and therefore they will simply shut down your daughter's account.

Oh My that is terrible! Contact Tom at Myspace immediately, there is also an area to report abusive messages and then block his contact although these sort of people tend to have several pages under different profiles. Myspace are very concerned about this sort of thing going on so they should get on to it straight away and contact the necessary authorities You may have to cancel her page and open another one with different info, using a nickname. Good Luck

Go to the persons page from your daughters page there should be somewhere on the page that says report abuse and turn him in that way. also block him from gettin on your daughters page and if he is a friend on there than delete him off. Also with her being 9 she shouldnt have a myspace account. its not good because the pervs will see her age and do those things block her account till she is old enough. good luck hope this helps

a 9 year old is not supposed to be on MySpace for exactly this reason. many kids are like friend collectors, it doesnt matter who it is, they want to talk to them and be added as their friend.
you should call the cops, inform them of the situation, then do not let her back on MySpace.
i am 23 years old and i have a myspace, it is set on private and no friend request unless you know my full name or e-mail address. i use it to keep in touch with my family and friends that live far away from me.

Don't delete any emails he sent to you. Contact your police dept for assistance. Many large depts now have someone who deals with just this type of situation. They may want to come look at the emails or may just want printouts. Either way, share all the info you have with them so they can catch him!!! Good job on spotting this and telling him to back off your kid! Too many children are on the net today giving out info to any and everyone and do not realize the harm it can lead to. So sorry you and your daughter have to deal with this creep.
