One of my friends has one child with his ex-girlfriend. Since he visits his daughter at times he also sees his ex-girlfriend—the mother. His ex-girlfriend found out that he had a girlfriend and she told her 5-year-old daughter that her daddy had a girlfriend. So sometimes my friend’s daughter will ask him about his girlfriend. Why did his ex-girlfriend tell their daughter about him having a girlfriend?

Probably so the child can get used to the idea in case the two (child and new girlfriend) meet, then there will be no nasty surprises or uncomfortable reactions. I don't know why other answerers are calling her names when they do not know her or her intentions. Not all women are spiteful to their ex.

I told my four year old that her daddy had a girlfriend. I only did it though because I knew her dad loved his new girlfriend and that they would be staying together. I wanted my daughter to be able to understand. She actually asked her dad after that to meet his girlfriend (she used her name though). They met and now my daughter really likes her. When I first talked to my daughter about her dad's new girlfriend I only said good things about her and because of that my daughter was able to get used to her and not be scared or afraid when ever she is around.

no one can explain why someone does what they do but look at all her actions is she spiteful or a mean person or do you think she was just getting the kid used to the idea of another women in the child's life ?

Prolly to be Spitefull my Son understands that his mom & I split up (2 at the time he's now 4) And My GF and her boys Live with me..........

why do you think she did? because she is abitch, and really thinks there is a chance for her.
