Ok I just don't understand why all the celebs are adopting children in other countries? And why it is a much bigger deal about children in other countries being orphans. What about our children that are orphans in the US? They are suffering just as bad.. We just dont know it because we dont have commercials about the children here but they are trying to help the children across seas. It just makes no sense to me. It is very sad.I f I could adopt a child I would... What do you think about this?

She refuses to buy safety locks for her house and wants me to buy them. I have a gate that I brought there and I needed it back, and she threw a tantrum. She wants me to bring toys for the children.I don't have that much space in my car to bring a lot for 4 children. She is very immature and always asks me why I don't bring the children over, it's because I saw my niece chug bleach! I came inside, and asked where my niece was and my mom said in the bathroom, and I saw her drinking. My niece is alive thank god to me, because if I wasn't there she would die. Even if I go there to her house with the children she makes me take care of the 4 kids while she goes upstairs and passes out without telling me. I have an 8 month old who is starting to crawl and there is no space for her. My mom has a big house, it's she jampacks it with crap. What and how should I tell her that I don't want my children to be with her and I'm sorry about it, but I would like to maintain a nice relationship with her?

Things such as animals going extinct, war, global warming. For a child not living in an area where things of this nature is common, at what age can a child not only grasp the concept but also not feel deep fear or a deep helplessness of these things?

During the trip down to my husbands parents house, we were stuck in a 3 hour traffic jam. The twins were asleep for about 45 minutes of it, but as soon as they woke up, they said they needed to go to the bathroom. Long story short, they held it for the whole time. When the tears started rolling, I tried to get them to go by the side of the car, but they got too embarassed. Thankfully, we got them to a bathroom right after getting out of traffic.

My kids sneaked into their gifts and now I don't know what to do. I'm thinking that I may just take them all back to the store and not replace them with anything or leave all of the Christmas stuff down and not put it up until after they have gone to bed. So they will think that there will be no Christmas then let them have it after all. I feel the need to make them learn a lesson.

Do you think it's fair for grandparents to be expected to play a role in a grandchild's life? Why? Why not?

What was the worst punishment you ever received. The worst I ever got was when I was10(now 13). My twin brother and I skipped school and went to see a movie, it was rated "R". Well, guess who was shopping at the mall? Our mom. She saw us and brought us home. This is was she did. She pulled both of our pants down. We now had bare butts. She took a belt and slapped our bare butts for an hour. Then she made up an enema. Our mom used to keep these handy for our family in case of constipation. She made us get up on the table and lay on our stomaches. Then she put them on high speed. It was also not the warmest soap water. We had to stay on our stomaches during the whole thing. We each received two quarts. Then she made us hold it for 30 minutes. During tha thirty minutes this is what she made us do. She made us jump for 10 minutes. She made us run for 10 minutes. And she made us sit with of stomaches laying on our legs for 10 minutes. This was my worst punishment ever. We will never forget.

They always do this, once they are feed or once they are given a gift they split, they don't come to socialize because they think they are better than everyone else. They get feed and get their gift and they are on their way. Who thinks this is very rude? Like christmas is spending time with the family once we open gifts they are gone. They treat the family like crap and our two children who is 2 and 8 months like crap saying that they whine too much and whining is for wimps

One thing that I have noticed on here, when someone asks a question about stepkids, there are alot of people that give advice who have the belief that stepparents have no authority and should not be involved in correcting or disaplining their stepkids. I personally disagree, as do the people I know in my private life who are stepparents. So I find it hard to believe that Yahoo Answers in a real representation of how most stepparents believe. If a friend of your childs was spending the night with your kid and lets say they pulled the cats tail, would you not correct them immediatly, simply because you aren't their parent? Kids need to be corrected immediatly after they do something unacceptable. As it is, teachers and pricipals have the right to do this, but it seems that if a stepparent does it, they are wrong. I understand that remarriage of a parent can be difficult on a kid, but they still need to respect the adult authority in their lives, even if it is a stepparent.

How could someone let there young children alone outside with no supervision????? A 2 yr old someone my son's age playing outside with a older, but still young brother? Is the world going crazy? I see 5 yr olds running around in my neighborhood way down the street from their house, they were just 4! Who does that and feels okay about it? No matter what age my son is at, I will not feel okay with him at 5 going to somebody's house that I don't know and him going inside?! Why, these children don't have young parents, so it's not like they are young and careless, they are just stupid! Do people around your area do the same thing?

I would like to know peoples' opinions on this. Do you think that TV really influences a child's violent behavior, or does it come down to the parenting of the child? I believe that yes we should monitor what our children are watching (especially young children, because certain shows are scary). But there are times that we cannot always control what they see, all we can do is teach them fiction from non-fiction and right from wrong. Which is why that I believe TV may play a factor with violent children, but I also think that that problem COULD and SHOULD have been corrected early by the parents. Why is media blamed so much for child violence? My view is that just because a child sees someone get shot on TV doesn't mean they will shoot someone. ESPECIALLY when the parents have taught him that violence on TV is where it belongs. Only on TV, not in reality! What do u think???
