How old is your grandma? I am a grandma, and I don't feel old. I have 6 grandchildren and the oldest is almost 14.

Is she feeling well? Is she enjoying her life? If so, she probably doesn't feel old either.

All of us get older. It is part of life. If your grandma really is old, then as others have said, make sure that you spend time with her now. Ask her questions. Keep a record of stories she tells you about when she was young. Ask her about what she was like when she was your age. Show her love and kindness and patience and consideration. Help her if she needs help. Get pictures taken of you and her doing things together.

Age is just a number. Most of us feel in our heads about the same as we did when we were in our 20's. It is mainly when we look in the mirror that we realize that something has changed.

The love of a grandparent for a grandchild is very special. We can love our grandchildren in a more carefree way than we could love our children because we don't usually have the responsibility of supporting and raising our grandchildren. That is probably how your grandma feels about you. She probably feels that you are very special. All that you need to do is make her feel special too.

Ahhh, Think.

1. You may, if you're lucky, be as old as she is someday.
2. She may have some stories to tell you, before it's too late....that no one else in your family can tell you.....of what it was like when she was young...what you really need to ask her is how old was she when she first fell in love...and in those days, what was a date?
3. She may not have much time left...and you will remember your time together...if you take video, pictures and record her voice...of what she wants you to know about life.
4. She may need only simple gifts...a nice visit from you, a hug, someone to brush her hair, paint her nails, buy her hand cream... because her skin is so dry.
5. Cherish her.....she is your link to history.
6. Realize if you were in her shoes......on the way out........what would you want from your grandaughter?
7. Give her as much love as you can...........and realize you may be in her chair someday waiting for people to come to visit.....and no one comes.
8. I'll bet her eyes sparkle when she sees you!

My sister's best friend, Wendy, used to lock her grandmother in her bedroom and still money and go out while her Mom was at work.

She'd leave her Grandmother locked up all day long and her grandmother didn't remember what was going on. She used to also have parties in the afternoons or weekends when her Mom was at her boyfriend's house. She would lock up her Grandmother then too.

She only felt a little bit sorry after her Grandmother died. But she got over it because she got inheritance from her.

This is a totally true story.

Cherish the time you have left with her, be glad you have a grandma to love and to love you. Spend as much time with her as you can, make memories that will last you a lifetime, get advice from her as an adult what she would have done differently in her life.

News flash, your Gramma is old compared to you, no matter how old she really is. You love her because she is your grandma, and you respect her because she has lived through so much more than you ever will.

What can you do? You can't stop the natural aging process. Just live everyday with her to the fullest. Spend time with her, renforce how much you love her. It's unfortunate, and sad, however death is inevitable. Make the best of it.

Take the time and have the patience to listen to her. Then tell her how much you love her and let her know what positive difference she has made in your life.

I agree with the second answer. Just be with her. That's what she needs most seeing as how she's not going to be around much longer.
