Part II: When did you first see them signing back?

Just think of it as talking to your baby (as in the same way you speak to them with words). It's much easier to incorporate the signs into the conversation, like when you're talking about getting them ready for bed, do the sign for blanket as you cover them up while saying the word too, then say good night and do the sign with it. It's easier just to use it as you would normally speak, rather than "teaching" them to sign. We started around 2 months and he was about 8 months when he started signing back. But, I've heard that some baby's do it as early as 6 months. Good luck!

6 months is when I started teaching her how to sign for more. At 17 months she still signs it.

I started almost immedately. My daughter signed her name for the first time when she was about 10 months.
