I liked when my daughter was about 5 months old and she was so happy and content just sitting somewhere with a few toys. And anything would make her smile.

Assume parent A works 40-50 hours a week.

Parent B is home with three kids, ages 4 months to four years, all day. This parent works 167 hours a week. (24-7)

A gets weekends off, B does not. A sleeps all night, B gets up twice to feed and change a baby.

B also does all the housework, takes off the trash, fixes all meals, including special meals for B's picky kids when they come to visit.

So the question is, why does A consider himself to be the hard-working parent and B to be a lazy person who does nothing?

my g/f's son just turned 15 not long ago and she thinks he needs a truck to drive this winter. he doesnt have a good reliable track record on anything and i dont think he deserves to drive at all. first a truck would be terrible to learn how to drive in the snow in. wouldnt you be scared if a kid was driving around without any respect for the road or a vehicle? he has gone through drivers ed but that doesnt mean squat to me. we live in Indiana where you have to drive with an adult until 16 i think (not sure though).

I DO NOT LIKE [other people's] KIDS. What's the big deal? It's not one of the deadly sins. Most children are loud and messy. I can only tolerate them in small doses. They really get on my nerves.
I have a daughter who is 10. She is very mature for her age as I have spent a lot of time with her, teaching and training and nuturing and loving and disiplining her. SO, don't write me and say stupid junk like "I feel sorry for your kid". She is a very happy child, but she is also very well behaved. I don't let her act a fool in public or do as she pleases. I just can't stand unruly children [or thier parents for that matter - they ought to be ashamed for letting their kids be so bad].

Well, I just wanted to get that off my chest. I feel better.

Why do they tell them things that are untrue and hurtful?

E.G. They tell them that there is a tooth fairy or there is Santa Claus or that the Easter bunny lays eggs

I'm glad today that my parents never told such lies like that. It saved myself from being naive.

We feel that we need to let her know. She is eleven years old and has been asking many question to her grandparents. Like where was her daddy when she was younger. Hes not in baby photos and bday photos. So we know we need to talk with her about it. We just don't know how. My husband adopted her when she was five. He has been in her live since she was two and half. She has never known anyone else to be her father. If anyone has any advice on this please leave a serious answer.

i do i have seen everything on here and not on purpose, even with instint messager i have seen porn and have been talked to in the wrong manner without me initiating it. i think computers should be used at school by kids, and only when they need to type or research homework in the supervision of a parent. my son's are 2.5yrs. old and 7mths old and when they get older there is no sitting on here i dont want them to learn the wrong things, instead i will be paying for them to join clubs and sports of their choice. Do you agree?

I have been dating my boyfriend since 1/04 and ever since my daughter who is 8 has been giving him a hard time. Rude and disrespectful, her father tells her she does not have to respect him because he is NOT her father, he almost stopped dating my because of it but loves me too much to give up, oh there is sooo much I could get into but Ill keep it short. I just had a baby with him and we are sooo in love. My daughter is a lil better since she knows he is going to be around cause of the baby but she still has not opened up to him, still disrespectful at times. Im trying so hard. She only acts up when he is around I dont wanna spank her over it because I dont want her to blame him for it or think Im choosing him over her. Ive talked for 2 1/2 years but uh no success, and her dad STILL GIVES US HELL. My boyfriend gets sad a lot because he tries so hard but now he feels like he cant keep trying, he wants me to be more strict but I voiced my concern with that. What do you all think

I want to give my 2 year old little girl the world! (If I can afford to) But I have many people telling me that I am setting my daughter up for disaster, and that she will become a spoiled rotten brat! I feel that you can have the best of both worlds. My brother and I were spoiled and we are very appreciative adults. We know the value of a dollar and we are thankful for everything in our lives. My parents were NOT rich. But, my mother made sure we had the things we wished for especially at Birthdays and Christmas time. She would go without things for both of us. I feel that I am well on my way of becoming my mom! And I don't see anything wrong with it. We turned out just fine. However, family and friends think you can't have both. If you spoil your kiddos they will never appreciate things and think that if you want something you should get it. I plan on raising my little one with values, morals and appreciation while trying to give her the best. What do you think?

I understand maybe when a kid is a toddler, but why do teenagers who drive, who are really independent who have moms who stay home? My little sister's friend's mom does it, and it is kind of weird. She is 16, and her sis is 18 and going to college and the mom still stays at home like they are 5 and 6 years old. Just wondering why this is?

I was recently married, and it seems like my parents have pulled away from me emotionally somewhat. They approved of the marriage and love their new son-in-law very much. I just want them to know they're still so very important to me. What did you feel when your child was married? How can a newly married young adult show her folks that she wants them in her life?
