my question is am I a worried mom? Or a good mom. My daughters class has 20 kids in it and it is a public school. But the thing is when I drop her off at school, all the other parents just leave there kids there, all alone, no adults!! They are alone for 10-15 minutes befor the bell rings. I am the only parent that sits with the kids. ( I live in Utah, and here we just had a 5 year old girl abducted and killed.) so this freeks me out. am I crazy or right?

Here's the situation. My husband and I are very close to his grandmother. She lives alone, and we visit her often. The problem is she is kind of paranoid when it comes to our daughter. It's annoying to have answer the same old questions over and over.."When will her teeth come in?" (My baby is 7 months. She has been asking us since she was 4 months old) Is she sick? (After my daughter sneezes once at her house. His grandmother smokes in her garage which may be the problem, but I don't want to be rude and bring this up.) And, countless other things. Sometimes it seems like she is putting down are parenting skills.

How do I tell her to butt out in a nice way. I'm afraid that one day I'm going to blow up on her, and I don't want that to happen.

My daughter just turned one. She is a very picky eater, she doesnt even like the normal stuff like mac and cheese, her daily diet is fruit loops, mixed veggies, beans and yogurt. i know that doesnt sound too bad, but she needs to put some weight on, shes in the 5th percentile for her weight. Any one have any ideas for me to try with her?

Do we have enough research to know that time outs work. I mean it seems like a fairly new approach to parenting, I just haven't really met any young adults that say yes I turned out good because of time outs when I was younger all I hear is "my parents would beat my *** and I turned out fine...."

This wonderful little boy just started pre-school.His race became an issue when the parent filled out his paperwork for school. This child is thought to be caucasion by the outside world because he's very light with blonde hair and blue eye's, but he has some african-american features that other african-americans recognize as being from their race.He also has a caucasion father now who has raised him from the age of 5 months and is thought to be the birth father.I guess what I'm really asking is how do get him to understand this and is it too early to approach this. The parents and friends fear that another child may inadvertantly say something and confuse him. This is a serious question so no haters please.

If you were to have 2 children only and money wasn't an issue (like having to wait longer between them to buy a house, etc.) how far apart would you have your children?

I would like to have two children that are 2.5-3 years apart.

What is the "perfect" age difference between two siblings?

The government is now pushing to have children 9 - 12 vaccinated against HPV, saying that it protects against cancer. Why not just tell the truth. Doesn't HPV come from being sexually active? And if you are not sexually active, you will not contract HPV? From the research I've read, it is a strickly STD. In life there are consequences to face when you break the rules. Why not insist that our children remain children and not have sex until they are married?

My bestfriend friend of 13 is a guy named Matt. His wife is really mean to me. I work three jobs, as a petite model, as a personal trainer, and a mom of 2. I am married as well. Matt's wife is a stay at home mom solely even though he can hardly afford it, she spends her entire day in sweats. Matt complains to me she has really let herself go. Our kids are in the same class and sometimes when I went to pick my daughter up, she came over to my 5 year old daughter and said " Do you know that your mom is a fat b****" right in front of my face. She calls me a horrible mother because I work 31 hours a week! I am very nice to her, I even offered to give her some free personal training sessions. I go out with Matt sometimes for drinks or dinner and she calls him like every two minutes to " check up on him", she also calls my husband and makes up lies up how I am sleeping with guys I meet at my job. I am not a bad mom, I love my kids to death and make sure that my family is happy and healthy.

My daughter is 13 years old.The problem is she studies all the time!Everything else is uninteresting for her. It's like this already 2 years!I'm going out with her and we go where all other kids go to play or meet each-other,but she is just not interested and always asks me to go home so she could study. She is bored of everything else. She doesn't go out with friends, just studies at home and doesn't want anyone to bother her while she reads student books. She is one of the best at school.I'm worried she misses her childhood. But that's really interesting for her.Has anyone else have such a problem?

Why do some people (so many!) believe this to be true?

I was talking to someone who told me that after years and years of study, a woman shouldn't "waste her education" to j"ust be at home and make babies" and stuff. Other people have made similar remarks before. WTF??? Do they not know that this is one of the hardest and most rewarding job ever? Why do most cultures make it look like it's a big loss for a woman to make such a choice? Why do they persist in these lies, knowing fully well they are wrong?
