It is very rare, but yes this is possible. Remember back in your high school days when you took biology and the teacher was rambling on and on about genetics? Well, this is where genetics come into play. Two caucasions can indeed have a baby with dark skin. If anywhere in your family history there is a relative with darker skin, they have a particular gene that made their skin dark. Anyone can carry the gene for black, brown, yellow, or white skin regardless of if that is the color of their own skin. If two people with the gene for brown skin have a child together, it is possible for their genes to match up and creat a brown-skinned baby. It is fairly rare, though, so you should probably get a DNA test done on you and the baby. Having a faithful partner give birth to a baby of a different skin tone if far more rare that having an unfaithful partner. Good luck!

I've heard stories about a guy that his wife had a black baby. He though she was cheating on him, and they were getting readily to get a divorce, when the woman desperately trying to save the marriage, had a test done. Turns out the guy had had a black person in hid family and that something strange happened in the genetic stuff, and that just because of the black guy, it skipped a couple of generations and now the baby got the trait. It's definitely nothing to be ashamed of. Have her tested.

It depends on what you mean by black - like very very dark or mixed race - and what your heritage is.

It is technically possible that if you both have a relative a few generations back who was black you can produce a dark skinned baby.
There have been cases of this with one "white family" who gave birth to one black baby and one white because of this scenario.

However this is a very rare happening. If i were you i might want to get a paternity test. In this situation i dont think it is that objectionable.

Your wife told you a story. Unless of course she or you have some strong recessive gene, but the likely hood is still very small for that to happen.
Don't be fooled just because you love her. Get a paternity test done to be sure.
I wish you the best.

Yes it is possible. My cousins husband had a mix cultural background and didnt know it, so when their son was born he was so sure she had cheated on him. He got a dna test done and it came back he was definately dad. If you have any doubts what so ever please take everyones advice and get the test done. Also, it wouldnt hurt to get ahold of your local group of Mormans. They have excellent skills at tracing your family tree.Have them trace both sides, then if the test comes back positive you will have a better history to teach your child.

Of course this is possible. If you look back in history, there have been many cases where the man thought his woman cheated and it turned out that in fact in his family tree, many years ago, he had a black relative. Our genes, because of dominance and recessiveness do not always reveal all of its expressions in one generation. Don't forget, you can always get a DNA test.

It's possible, but since you have doubt, you should do a DNA test so the child doesn't pick up on your doubt. It is better for your relationship with your child that you know the truth and deal with whatever consequences if any.

Have a DNA test to satisfy your conscience. I think it is possible, but not likely. Maybe you could schedule an appt. with a geneticist. The child and others are going to have lots of questions. What if you want to have another child, also?

Its alright to be suspicious but like we all know we do not know what all lingers in the family tree. Test to be for sure though. Depends too if this child was concieved the old fashion way or through something like IVF.
