IQ has nothing to do with being a good parent. Parents with high IQ's could be less responsible of taking care of a child as a parent with a low IQ might be. Brains has nothing to do with it. Somewhat... in the department of common sense. But otherwise, no. And you can't ban someone from being a parent because of their IQ... that will NEVER happen.

The world doesn't need more smart people, smart people invented leaded petrol and the nuclear bomb, the world needs more kind people.

Women with low IQ do have significantly more children than women of high IQ. Though strangely the IQ of the population in the UK has been steadily increasing this century. Better nutrition and education of the population are also factors.

I do think that parenting courses and some sort of licensing should be mandatory. People should want to have kids and have the means to raise them well (to a very generous definition of well) before they are allowed to have them.

no-one should be banned from having children its a natural thing that occurs when two people are in a relationship having a low IQ doesn't mean that they wouldn't make good parents they would probably make better parents than those of a higher IQ

Parents of low intelligence and understanding of social interaction should be sent on courses before they have kids. IQ isn't a measure of anything practical to do with daily life. You dont need a high IQ to be a wonderful parent. But you do need the ability to understand society. Parents should have licences before they have children and undergo strict examinations. Look at they way society has become in certain areas and cultures. What a waste.... What a waste.

Great idea! We need to pass a marginally difficult test for our driver's license, and even need a permit to sell hot-dogs on the street, but the most influential thing a person can do on this planet, to bring another human being into this world, it appears there is no qualifications needed...In the Philippines, some mothers are still having 6-10 babies, but those are the most uneducated of the lot....but it impacts on the entire world....Nothing against the Philippines, I just use it as an example....Women in poverty in Africa continue to bare children...look at the high birthrates....it's a crying shame....but it's not politically correct to suggest only people with money can bring children into this world...I believe in 100 years, when the worlds population will reach close to 10 Billion, and the worlds resources will be stretched to the limit, there will qualifications required to have a baby...

This is totally not a good idea and also can be considered a new form of biological bias instead of a typical racism.God knows more than we do about why there were some of us has either higher or lower IQ.man is part of nature to and nature has it's own unique ways to make sure a survival of one's species. Some were made to be intelligent, some were tough and strong, some were tall, some were small, some were skinny and others were fat. This also works for skin tone where darker skinned people were commonly found in many hot, sunny or dry places while for the fair skinned it's usually in colder spots.Fat or obese people have a higher chance to survive deep and cold water than skinny people because the high fat contain under their skin simply make them more buoyant and also reduced the risk of having a severe hypothermia. The tall people moves faster but the preying animals can easily spot them due to their size. The small or shorter people moves a bit slower but hides better from preying animals. The stong-built people helps us to to do heavy duties such as logging, ironsmithing etc. and also can be recruited as a soldier or police to keep our neighborhood and nation safer. The intelligent, genius and creative groups of people help with their brain power to develop new technology or survival ways to help their people to live in this challenging Earth.
From this we can make a conclusion that all of us are the same but simply unique as individuals. We can't actually let only a special groups of us live on this planet while others were let to exticnt. To much and to little of something can be disasterous.
Always remember that guys!!!!!....may God bless us all.

IQ isnt a factor in parenting! You have to learn to be a good parent, everyone does, it doesnt all come naturally!

Though Ive watched a few nanny shows/health shows (those channel 4 programmes) and some of the stupid *** parents on those shows was unbeilvable. Why is my kid fat? Then u see the mother making heaps of fried food or worse one actually phoned a take-away...... every day! Why does ma kid hate me? Then u see the dad.....well u dont see the dad, he´s down the pub with the mum!

Ridiculous!

No of course not. Parents of low IQ won't necessarily have dumb children. And even if they did, we need people like that to sweep our streets, work in those soul destroying jobs in factories and do all the other jobs that require no intelligence to perform.

no nobody should control the number of babies or if regular people can have babies-if all the paretns with a low iq were ban from having babies the world's population would drop, and their iq's dont effect their childrens so why not?

NO.

People of ALL IQ's are required to make a well ballanced society... If we were ALL geniouses then no none would be around to do the simple jobs we HAVE to do to survive....

Besides IQ is not the BE ALL AND END ALL of life....

It doesnt take into account the ability to physically do things....
