It depends on how mature your son is.
I would make him his own account and make sure he knows that you can and will check up on him to see what he is asking and answering.

No, 12 years old is too young, and there is too much sexual content on Yahoo!Answers.
You should be concerned about the safety of your son on ANY website, including MY SPACE. Unless you intend to sit next to your son each time he is on computer, you should have a way to monitor the sites he uses. This website is NOT for your son.

I would say NO. I have seen some bad stuff on here and I don't think I would leave a 12 year old unattended on it. Even if they do create a kids answers forum, adults will still portray themselves as kids and be on there. So there really is no safe way to do it, except monitor your sons internet use 24/7.

sure. no human being listens to internet website age regulations anymore. And to boot, 12 is purely a 365 days (in certain circumstances purely some months) off from 13. no longer an really large difference in any respect. Yahoo solutions is a lot safer than MySpace. i does no longer enable her on MySpace, actually. yet Yahoo solutions? no longer some thing incorrect with it.

I don't think any child should be on the computer unsupervised. Why not sit down with him and tell him he can answer 10 questions, and let him pick the ten but you get final say.
It seems some of the educational questions are quite useful and interesting, however, he has no business on the relationship or religious questions.

There are a lot of good things here, but there are some very sick people, too. If he needed a question answered I would write it myself and then check the answers that came for it. I wouldn't let a young kid spend random time here.

12 is just a little too young, they grow up too fast now days, and their a lot of weirdo's out there anymore. It's hard to keep up with children with all these modern tech.they become computer savvy very young. How much they dislike our monitoring them, we need to now more than ever, for their own safety.

If it can be avoided, I would. Some of the questions that come up in the teen and preteen sections are brutal. Everybody's talking about how they masturbate and who had sex at 10 years old, and what 13 year old girl they got pregnant...it's not a good source of information for him. (that's why I come on to give people the real truth!)

I would only allow a 12 yr old on here if I was sitting nearby. There is a lot of adult content on this site.

I would not. I have been on here for about a month and I am 29 and appalled at some of the things on here. It is scary. There is noway to monitor what he will read and respond to.
