Don't you hate it when people get so damn defensive when you just ask a simple question that has to do with race.Anyway i have a friend she is white dad is black and they have just curly hair like its not course or anything so she just puts a little cream in it and its fine.My little bro is hispanic and white and his hair is real dark and curly and frizzy my mom has to keep it cut short or its wild but its soft she just puts some cream of some sort in it and he is good to go.As far as everyone getting so defensive about race issue we can't ignore that everyone is a different race and people need to stop looking at it as a negative its no big deal everybody is different we should be able to ask questions like this without getting a smart *** remark.

Ditto on the "it doesn't matter what race you are, you can have difficult hair". My hair has mostly been difficult, and I am whiter than white. It is very curly and unmanageable. That said, my neice has three mixed kids, and has a hard time with her daughter's hair. It is very curly, and she plans on letting it grow long to weigh down the curl. Since the baby is only one year old now, her mom puts it up in a short ponytail, or pins it back, using smoothing lotion.

I have mixed race children (boys), but they have european hair. It is very thick and wavy and starts to curl at about a couple of inches. I do not find it difficult to manage. I think because I am a black woman I find it easy. I do know of others parents, where I would love to get my hands on the child's hair and do something with it!!

Mixed race is a very large picture. My son is mixed ~ white/Mexican ~ his hair is just darker then that of mine due to his dads dark genes. I do have a friend her baby is mixed white/black and that childs hair is great! she has the texture of a white person but the great curls and darkness of her fathers~ I only could wish to have that kind of hair! I know that curly hair is hard to manage no matter what race you are and the curlier the worse!
I dont really take the "race" in mind cause we all are diffrent no matter what race we are and that means all kinds of hair types with all levels of diffcultly :)

Nope. I am mixed and my mom never really had a problem with it. (I got most of the white hair LOL!) I don't think race really matters with hair as much as genetics. My cousin (all white) has hair that most black folks would perm immediately and never let the new growth linger to long. HA HA!!

Lucky for me, I had a boy and another on the way, so doing their hair shouldn't be to tough. But when they get older and want for example cornrows, which I don't like how they look but it would be his decision, that might be hard. I can't do it and his hair can get very rough, that why his father always just kept his short.

If they are mixed race then they will have the parent of each race and thus those parents the knowledge of both hair doos!!

No I certainly don't but I know people who do, and I know some hairdressers who also struggle with mixed race hair.

my little sis has a mixed raced daughter and she loves doing her hair although at times does find it hard to find certain kinds of creams for it as she lives in dominica they are expensive.
i wish my daughters hair was like my nieces because it is so easy to separate and platt etc..
