Before you say it: I know the first step is to get off the computer. Now after that. I know that it is hard to believe that a woman my age with 2 kids can't clean a house worth a _ _ _ _, but I have never been a great housekeeper. Which is strange, cause my mom and dad are both compulsive neat freaks. I will say, I was much better before I got married, when I lived on my own, but now I am horrible. I usually get overwhelmed and then don't want to do anything cause it is so bad. OK, it is not like my house has moldy food plates in the livingroom or cat poop on the floor, but the kitchen is a wreck, I have let the laundry pile up, and the living room looks like a train wreck. My husband is no help to me at all, so I have just given up trying to get help from him. I don't do much on the weekends, cause I usually have both kids and him around, but today I am off work and it is just me and my 2 1/2 daughter. Where do I start, please give me a list with details? Thank you!

It's the 'eye tooth' and the new one is visably out and above the existing baby tooth. Has this happened to anyone? Do I need to rush off to the dentist?

She argues with you about everything. Even what the caculator says is wrong when you use it. You decide to start picking your battles, letting things go unless it's a safety issue. Today she gets angry at you before you start on her hair and won't let you do it. Her bio father is already at work. It's your job to get her off to school. You tell her, Fine, style it yourself. She finishes it and has an uneven part down the middle, lopsided pig-tails hair all over her head. She knows it looks bad. You offer to fix if she will apologize or ask you to redo it. She is to stubborn to do either. At first you feel empowered by not engaging a power struggle with a 10 yr old. However, when you take her to school won't people think you must be a nelectful, intoxicated or uncaring step mother to send your child to class with a what appears to be raging bed-head?

Yep, I did it! I must admit...along with their grandparents of course. I didn't have much growing up. I make good money now and try to give them things I needed and wish I had when growing up. I've noticed, however, that my 10 yr old doesn't like sharing (especially with her younger sister who is 8). Every time I turn around they are asking for things as if money grow on trees! I actually told my younger daughter that and she responded saying "well mommy, money does grow on trees. Isn't money made from paper and paper is made from trees." Somtimes when they get on the phone with their grandparents, they'll ask, "do you have something for me?". I don't want them to grow up always expecting people to buy them something.

70% of the time when someone has a step child who is: disrespectful, a liar, and/or mean-spirited the step mom is advised to” earn their respect”/“realize that U must never discipline them, your job is only to love them as if they were your own” EVEN with teenaged kids/20-something kids. 2ndly I don’t want to play shrink 4 any kids. If they're being a**holes why do I have to view it as “probable issues from the bad divorce of their parents.”ppl don't say that when their collegue/sales rep/waiter, etc is being a jerk. “the rep probably had to endure her folk’s divorce so I just need to love her.” Age 13+ shouldn’t they get their “act like a louse b/c Ur folks broke up” card revoked? If a step mom said to U, “My spouse assured me that he had respectful children & that he was a stern but fair parent. They R not & he allows them to walk all over him and me therefore he can take his coddled brats and jump ‘cause I don’t have time for it!" Wld U understand her or think she was a b i t c h?

I started letting my daughter eat baby foods. (bananas, apples, carrots jar) and rice cereal. She started getting a rash on her butt and under her stomach. She has a runny nose for 2 days. Those are signs of food allergies. But it could also be because she has a diaper rash. And the runny nose could be from getting cold at night. I asked the Dr. and he said it looks like a diaper rash. But i want to be certain its not food allergies. Do any of you mothers have any helpful tips?

I want to put a password on my computer to limit the time my son spends on it, but my teenage son is very smart and my parenting strategies like this often backfire. What if he puts a password of his own on my computer? Then what would I do?

My mom, her sister, my grandmother. They buy her every thing she needs wants and more. I really appreciate them helping out now and then. My fiance too her shoping the other day and she threw a fit because he wouldn't buy her what she wanted. I've been so worried something like that was going to happen. If there is one thing I can't stand, it's children that don't mind their parents. And I really really don't want my children to be that way. I have a feeling this all has to do with the fact that when ever she goes any where with any of them they buy her things. Weather she needs them or not. Help! How do I take control of this situation. No matter what I say, they are not going to change. I grew up getting spoiled by them, and I really don't want that for my baby girl.

I stay home with the two kids (12 and 2 years old) (the 12 year old is not his biological child) When he gets home from working at around 6 or 7 he goes right into punishing my 12 year old. And anytime I am punishing or explaining anything to either kid he butts his nose in and tries to take over. I have told him that he is not home enough to come in and punish right away (that my son will end up hating him) and nobody needs both parents giving them **** about the same thing. (I do not butt in when he is punishing) It isn't that he doesn't agree with the punishment, he just feels the need to "help me" or something. I don't know, but it sure makes me mad, and talking to him about it doesn't work.

I am trying to think ahead for the holiday season. I would like to start some new traditions with my family this year, as my son will be old enough to be involved. I LOVE stockings and the goodies you can put into them.
What are some creative things you put in your families stockings every year that they look forward to?

of little boys get angry if they want to play with their sisters/cousins or whatevers dolls... is it really because they feel that this may somehow change their sexual orintation.... and why is it that after not being able to play with dolls because its for girls are then expect to help their wife with the children. i know that it is not all aprents but id like to know what the thinking behind it is.... in my family we were always allowed to lay with whatever we wanted and both of my brothers used to play with my dolls sometimes and they both grew up to be normal boys (and no none of them are gay)... i dont know its just something i was wondering...

Get scared to have kids! jesus cristos!!

All parents ever seem to do is grip,
It's quite distressing, I dont know if I want kids.
Although, to be honest with you, I never knew if I did anyway.
And marriage in general seems to be a boat load of crap anyway.

yes parents, its hard having kids, it
gets harder every decade, but do any of you actually enjoy your jobs?

oh wait, I forgot,
half of you shouldn't even be parents anyway.
not as many people as we think should do it.

In my sons school he is in the afternoon Kindergarden class. They don't provide a lunch/snack for the kids. So far he has been given junk like cupcakes which bugs me because I try not to give them to much suger and snacks. Well unlike the other parents I want to give them a healthy, but yummy snack. They appear to be a bit rushed, and I believe it has to be something fairly simple, and not to much of a mess. Can anyone help.
