Ok I just my second son last week and my 2 year old is really not feeling me nor the baby. I try to tell him this is your baby and you gotta protect him and all that good stuff... But he is just like "NO Do want it" that's what he says.. What in the world can I do to help him get use to the new baby and he has to share mommy now?

My hubby works out of town. He is gone anywhere from a few days up to 2 weeks, sometimes..but not often more. When he leaves his oldest daughter from a previous marriage goes back to her mothers house untill he returns. A few times he has asked me to watch her for a few days more while he is gone and I have said no, she can go to her mother's. I say this because I treasure the time alone with my child and use the time he is gone to relax. If her Mother was incapable of watching her or was out of town then it would be a different story..but she isnt. When he is home and she is here I find myself constantly picking up after them and in general keeping house. So when he leaves it is my break to slough everything off ( except work ) and spend time with my child.
He has gotten offended the past few times that I have said no I will not watch her. Am I in the wrong for saying no to watching her for a few says while her mother has nothing more to do than go to work and come home?

Why do people answer your questions with nothing productive to say? They just voice their opinion on you question and offend you. Personally, I am sick of people answering questions by insulting the asker by saying things like...you shouldn't have kids. I am talking about serious questions. It really irritates me. We are here to get advice from others with experience. I appreciate all the helpfull answers that I get and that I read on other questions. Most of us are here to help. Does anyone think that it is wrong to answer questions this way? Is there anything we can do to stop it besides reporting them? Nobody here deserves this, we deserve respect!

At what age will you let your daughter go over to a boyfriends house alone? Why at this age instead of another--if at all? If you don't have a teenager or a daughter--just answer hypothetically!

Basically, I wanna have a kid. Probably with another guy. Obviously I cant defy science and have it with whoever he turns out to be but Im not sure if I should just sex my friend, let her carry it for me, or if I should adopt across seas and bring it back? I dunno.

I grew up in a small country town in Texas, and it wasn't until I was in my 20's that I realized that not all children were raised like how me and my brother, and my friends were raised. I guess you could say I grew up sheltered but I was actually in shock to discover that not all people believed as my family and my friends families believed. Here is how I was raised:
I hardly ever disrespected my parents. If I did, I was grounded.
We went to church on Sundays, I went to Sunday school and Bible study on Wednesday. I went to church camp and I babysat for our preacher. Drinking and smoking were not allowed. If you did do that, you had better hope to heck that you didn't get caught. If an unmarried girl got pregnant, she and the father got married. Even if they divorced later on, the child would not be labled a bastard. The elderly people in the community were respected. I did not cause trouble at school. Abortion, child abuse, spouse abuse, promiscuity and drugs were horrible.

And did they hang it up for all to see? for example, in some families they would hang those novelty paddles (that say things like "for the cute little deer with bear behind" on the dining room wall.)

For me it was the wooden spoon, and my mom displayed it prominently in the family room.

I'm doing a comparison/contrast essay in which I will be outlining the pros and cons of allowing children to have pets at an early age (1-3 years old). I was wondering if anyone could offer any ideas of points I could make in the essay? What I have so far:

Pro- Having pets helps teach children responsibility.
Pro- Studies show children with pets are happier children.
Pro- Teaches children to be compassionate to others
Con- Animal could lose attention
Con- Allergies don't always develop in children until 2-3 years of age
Con- Children cannot be expected to know how to care for an animal alone

Doing make-up, hair, or etc. I spend around a half an hour each day when the kids are either sleeping or being quiet to get a shower and brush my hair. I rarely wear makeup and my hair is always in a bun. Do other mommys find time for themselves each day to glam up? Or are you like me and can't find the time to gussy yourself up the way you did before kids?

If you don't then great, this is not directed at you. But I see stay at home moms on here all the time with a "I am a better mother than you" attitude. One prime example is a woman who's answer to another question that I just read. This is exactly what she said, "why have kids AT ALL if you are going to pay someone else to raise them?" Now if that isn't an obvious jab to working mothers, then I don't know what is! If a mother can afford to stay at home full time with her kids, wonderful. And by "afford" I mean no welfare, food stamps, or any type of public assistance. But just because a woman has to work for a living to support her children, does not make her any less a good mother than a stay at home mom. We love our kids just as much as SAHM's do, unfortunatly to feed and clothe them, we do have to work. So again I ask, why do some SAHM's think they are better mothers than those of us who work? Don't we deserve to have children just as much as you?

I have tried A&D, desitin, and air. But it seems to be that warm baths are the only thing that soothes my baby's diaper rash and she can't live in the bath tub. She has very senitive skin and gets rashes very easily. In your experience, parents, what have you found that works best?
