My husband and I are Christians and when we have children we will raise them that way. I can't wait to read the bible to my kids and pray with them, eventually they'll have to make a decision for themselves, but I'll do everything I can to point them in the right direction.

I used to think I'd shelter them away from the world by home schooling or a christian school, but now I think that's unfair to them and to other kids... I hope my kids will be a light for Christ and an example to other kids. (not that I have anything against home schooling or christian schools) who knows, I haven't even had them yet :)

We are much of a free-thinker, but we send our girl to a church kindergarten.

We feel that we should raise a child with the right manner and how to be a proper human being.

As for religion, it should be her choice when she's old enough.

What's the point of raising a child with your own religion when she may not agree when she grow up.

Alot of parents raise their children within their own beliefs. There is nothing wrong with that (personal opinion). Personally i have no real "faith" as i was never taught anything about jesus and so on. I encourage my children to ask questions and look up the answers... Such as - my eight year old came to me and asked what is, excuse spelling, "jehovah" and i asked him where and how he heard it. He replied "well jehovah was a witness to something and i want to know what". Yep good ole 8yr olds! So we climbed on the computer and looked it up, we read enough for my son to turn to me and say "mommy i don't think their right" and i asked him why and he gave me his answers and so on - personally had to agree with him. But anyways - because i don't have a "set" religion i want my children to explore and see what the world has to offer and in the end pick out what and where they feel most comfortable. My 11yr old has asked about "God" and i explained that some people believe there is only one God and that he alone has created our world - and left it at that as i want him to look it up and read into it on his own terms. I don't want to bias them in any way. To each there own - is what makes the world go round!

We are pagan. I'm not raising my kids to be any specific religion. I don't believe it is right. I teach my kids about what is important to me. But that does not mean they are expected to believe the same as I do. We celebrate the seasons and they love that. They are still young but my oldest is starting to ask those tough questions so I'm going to introduce him to all religions. I feel like anything less would be brainwashing. He is his own person and should decide for himself which religion he wants to follow or not to follow.

None. I am Gnostic. Not Agnostic Gnostic. It is the religion that Jesus was when he was a living man. My children do go to church with their friends and have even been to VBS, but I want to wait until they are old enough to make their own decision on religion. I was brought up in an EXTREMELY hypicritical southern babtist church. Not for the life of me would I teach my children the lessons that were crammed down my throat there.

We love to read the bible stories and get the morality tale or history from them.
I teach them the history of the christian and jewish texts, how many of the jewish tales in the Old Testament evolved from Egyptian tales and some others from Babylonian Tales. I teach them about all religions and encourage them to have no religion, as I don't want them believing mythological systems are anything but metaphor.

I also teach them day in and day out to follow Christ's message. As Thomas Jefferson, who believe Jesus was not divine, only a man, said, "I believe I am a Christian in the ONLY way Christ intended, that I love my neighbor as myself."

I am going to try to raise my son so he has a knowledge of all religions. I want him to make his own mind up. I personally am Christian and take him to church but will not force that on him.

I am Christian and my husband and I raise our children to be believers in Christ. I will do everything in my power to teach them that Jesus loves them and hopefully they will follow. Pray, Pray, Pray.
