Why do people answer your questions with nothing productive to say? They just voice their opinion on you question and offend you. Personally, I am sick of people answering questions by insulting the asker by saying things like...you shouldn't have kids. I am talking about serious questions. It really irritates me. We are here to get advice from others with experience. I appreciate all the helpfull answers that I get and that I read on other questions. Most of us are here to help. Does anyone think that it is wrong to answer questions this way? Is there anything we can do to stop it besides reporting them? Nobody here deserves this, we deserve respect!

I agree with you 100%. I am a mother of 5 and I have one with ADHD, one with asthma, and my 6 month old baby has a slight head deformity and Acid Reflux.
When I ask questions on here about parenting, I do expect some serious answers as I always try to do the same myself.
So far I have been called a s**t, and have been told to put a cork in it and stop having kids.
I don't understand 1, how I am a s**t, as I have been married for ten years and my husband is the father of all 5.
Why should I "Put a cork in it?" Aren't my husband and I allowed to decide how many kids we would like?
I just don't understand myself why people are so mean to parents! We try very hard to raise our kids right, and sometimes we do have questions. It's not like we are the only ones who have ever asked a question in this regard or any other for that matter.
Some people are just cruel and should keep their comments to themselves.

I figure they're just in it for the points they get for answering a question. (I wish the points would be taken back if they had a certain number of thumbs down or something!!)

I always remember what someone told me when my baby was born and I think of it when I see that someone's doled out a useless or rude answer... The people with the most advice about raising kids don't have kids.

As a sidebar though (and certainly not directed at you... just venting...) I confess I DO get a little frustrated when someone asks the SAME question over and over again every day. (Am I pregnant? Could I be pregnant? Should I take a pregnancy test? Am I pregnant?) and they keep getting the same answers from kind and genuine users, but they keep asking anyway. (Go to a doctor already, PLEEEEEASE!)

You are absolutely right. No question is stupid if you are asking a real question and want different perspectives. Not all experts know everything or are right all of the time. Every child is different and somethings work on some children but not all things work on all children. Just because you are asking a question does not mean you should not have children. Please ignore the ignorant people and do not take offense. Many of them probably don't have children. The answers that bother me the most have to do with severe punishment and abuse or sick fetishes involving children.

Yes... everyone deserves respect and a helpful answer......... BUT once you ask a question in an open forum like this you have to expect that some of the responses will not be to your liking.

And as for people 'voicing their opinions'... this whole forum is based on people telling you what they think. Unless there is an actual doctor or Maternal Health nurse here answering each question based on fact you will get our thoughts.

If you dont want the opinion of a normal person then its best that you ask someone that is trained in the field that your question is based.

I for one will only answer the questions that I have some knowledge about and the questions that are just fun.

But again thats just my opinion.

I agree, I try to help in any way that I can, and I'll give my opinion, but I let them know that what i believe and that's how i have experienced it, but I don't do it to offend people and tell them how they should, just another option for them. It is really irritating when people offend others on here, some people just need to realize not everyone believes everything like they do, and respect others.

We all need respect. Being a parent is very demanding and no one has written a manuscript which covers everything. All
children are different even within the same family. It is your right to ask for help. Most people on this site would be willing to give good advice.

Personally ... I probly have the so-called "NO EXPERIANCE" cuz I don't have kids. But I've been babysitting since I was 9yrs old and I'm now 21. I've been around plenty of pregnant woman, always been interested in babies and how they come about and what-nots and I LOVE LOVE LOVE voice-ing my OPINION! THAT is WHAT this SITE is FOR! ... Sorry, trying NOT to be rude, but it's highly offensive that ppl don't like ppl's opinions when they are on a QUESTION ANSWER site? wtf? ya know. Anyways... i do try to KEEP from answering questions I really KNOW NOTHING about ... and If I do KNOW NOTHING about it I try and "RESEARCH" the answer through search engines... thats the best way to learn and be helpful! :) ... Seeing this made me think twice... guess i'll just double read and see what I should "ACTUALLY" answer based on my so called "EXPERIANCE".

TOTALLY AGREE!!!!! I don't know if there is anything we can do about the rude and stupid answeres we get on this thing. Just like we can't do anything about the rude ppl out at the mall or the grocery store. They are everywhere.

I agree with you... Plus I hate it when you clearly state all the information in a question and then people ask you the same darn thing. I mean seriously read the question before commenting.
