My son is 14, 15 in feb, i have become completely over the top lately about letting him out etc.
The area we live in is not the best of areas, although by no means the worst.
What is an appropriate time for him to be in of an evening, at the moment i hate him even going out.
I know i cant wrap him up in cottonwool forever, but i worry constantly that something could happen to him etc, it is driving me insane and him of course.
Any advice how i can learn to stop being so neurotic.

I have a 6 1/2 month old with a cold and he will wail and flail and swat at me when trying to get the junk out of his nose. And I use a nice warm wipe, no napkin or paper towel or anything.

And then lied to my face three days later when the policeman came and told me, (yeah...) and my daughter denied it to me and to him, when he was the one who picked them up for being out past curfew. The police didn't bring them back to my house, but they lied and said they were staying somewhere else, so that he wouldn't bring them to me, parents, what do you say to this?

She still whines about the silliest things! It really gets on my nerves. I notice that she only does it around family, & not her friends. Is there anything that I could do to help her stop doing it at all?

I am a stay at home mom and my husband works. My husband thinks I should take sole responsibility for taking care of my son. I do and love it, but I feel he is missing out on son and dad time. I feed, change, bath, play, read and put him to bed. He does nothing. Never gets up at night, never put him to bed, never spends any time with him. He says he tired with he gets home. Any suggestions.

With parents naming their kids with "different" names. I was wondering if there was a lot of making fun of. We just found out today that we are having another baby boy.
The name we chose for him is BINGHAM WINSTON KNIGHT.
Bingham is my maiden name. And Winston is my Dad's middle name. We would call him Bing for short.

Too weird or different ( Should I look for a different name) or do you think he will grow up fine. And he will not be made fun of because his name is different.

Thoughts??

He is five, and having problems adjusting to kindergarten. He has been to a doctor and doesn't have any neurological problems, but has tantrums, doesn't play well with other kids, and cries very easily. He has poor self esteem and freaks out when the "rules" or routine isn't followed. Any advice??

He has quite a good vocabulary (about 50 words, no (of course), don't, please, thank you, out, up...) and usually follows direction or listens to breif explainations or cause and effect. Occasionally he'd throw screaming fits. No thrashing or anything - just the screaming the screaming! I wanted to go to the doctor and say " look he's already screamed 422 times this morning, what can I do!?" Then it went away, for about the last 3 months, then again in the last 2 weeks it's resurfaced. A new twist is now he'll try to scream as loud and long as possible, it's ridiculous, he's purple and I can't help but laugh to myself and say I can't believe I'm this woman. We do the time out thing - only a minute at a time.

have a full head of hair that you can put into a bow and by the time they are two you can put their hair into pony tails and such. My first daughter was born nearly bald and she is three now and her hair is just past her shoulders. My second daughter wasn't completely bald but almost close and now she is almost one and people ask me why I cut her hair like a boy because it's so short. Any other parents have the bald cuties or were lucky and got kids with the lucious locks?

EVEN IF YOU DON'T LOVE HIM/HER OR WANT TO BE WITH HIM/HER ANYMORE?

2006-09-25 16:02:54 · 18 answers · asked by BX_ICANDY S 1

I would! I would get speech therapy, oral surgery, whatever.... there's this guy at my work who's at least 40 something or whatever and has a lisp - I can hardly concentrate on what he's saying! I just sit there and think: "can't you hear yourself? didn't your parents care enough to either teach you how not to talk like that or find someone who could...?" I also think that about people with f'd up teeth by the way. I just wonder "didn't this person have parents?!" Yeah, I know I'm mean to think this -- but, since I know that I am that way, I wouldn't want to set my kids up for that from others....

I asked this earlier and wanted some more opinions. I was talking with my husband about this topic the other day and was wondering what other people think. We spent our teen years in Germany. There the legal age to drink was sixteen (really, if you could see above the bar you could drink). The legal age to drive was eighteen. I think this is a great idea that would be great for America as well. I know very well that if you are legally able to drink, go to bars, and live a “party” lifestyle when you are younger--it wears out of your system, therefore, when you are able to drive, you already understand the effects of alcohol and aren’t tempted to drive under the influence--meaning less DUIs and DWIs. Also, like I said before, it wears the whole “party” lifestyle out of you--so when you do reach about eighteen you no longer have interest in participating in those acts. As parents, do you think this is a good idea?

Okay.... I am talking anything from someone rapes a small child to killing them. Do you think they should be able to live inside a jail or should they be hung/put to death once there is 100% probability that they committed the crime?
