I have a 2 year old and I just had him at the ER for the same thing and then had to take him to his pediatrician and she said he had to take a 10 day round of antibiotics, called backtrum. It cleared up in 3 days, but finished all the antibiotics. You need to take the child to their pediatrician to be sure that's what it is and to get the meds for it. Be careful the doctor said that staff infection is in this country pretty bad right now. Hope that helps!

I really think you need to go to a doctor because I don't relly think there is anything over the counter. My cousin who is 10 years had one and we had to take him to the doctor to get is lanced. Then the gave him some antibiotics and pain meds to help. A few months later he had another one, same thing but that was the last one. So ask a doctor first.

Go to the doctor!! My son had one when he was 1yo I didnt think much about it, because I got them also. His got so big and hurt so bad, he wouldnt even walk. When I took him to the doctor, we had to be admitted into the hospital because it had popped, and he develpoed a staph infection!! It all could have been avoided if I would have taken him in and had it lanced. Save your kiddo some pain.

1. try calamine or lacto-calamine. it has a mild soothing effect on boils and irriitations. it is very mild and therefore less likely to cause allergies
