He's my twin son - really fast with smart (-assed, sometimes) answers and slowing fine tuning this skill and is getting to a dangerous level. He is beginning to ingore my requests, refusing to cooperate, can just go off and do his stuff (plyaing cars mostly) when he knows its time for books and reading . and just tells me that he does not like doing reading so should not do it at all, etc... maybe another time, etc... !!! Help !! Like telling him that sleeping early would help him grow taller faster and he says he wants to stay short !! ?? Am i missing something ? His elder twin brother is the opposite and thank goodness. Suggestions please !

Okay...this is a complicated one.

I have a family member who has a long history of drug abuse (although, he claims to now be drug free) and has been diagnosed as schizophrenic. He has shown violent behavior towards me and other family members. Because of this, I DO NOT want him near my baby. I truly can't trust him.

What is a kind and gentle way to tell him that I don't want him near my baby? If I just come out and tell him, it could cause a very dangerous situation for me, my husband, and/or my baby.

Your advice is appreciated.

I have seen women wearing next to nothing with everything hanging out and that is acceptable, but if a woman wants to feed her baby everyone makes a big deal. I nurse and I don't do it in public, but I think that women who want to should be able to.

Suppose a woman has two kids, 12yo girl and 5yo boy. Suppose she has a 2bedroom trailer and each kid has a room and the woman has her bf over to sleep with her in the livingroom floor. Suppose the 12yo has complained that she hates for mommy to have her bf over bc she doesn't like to see all that kissing. Suppose there is constant drinking in front of the kids and the 5yo wants to start smoking. I swear it. So if a concerned citizen were to report this, a) could it be anonymous and b) what would happen?

My husband wants 1 or 2 more children, we already have a boy 7, and a girl 2. We have a big enough house, and financially we could afford more, BUT I don't know how if I'm really going to be able to fit additional children into our already busy life, I'm a at home mother, Any at home moms out there!! Do you find it crazy , and unorganized with more than 2 children? Please help, my husband is really gung ho, and I really cannot make up my mind, he will respect my decision either way, but I just want to be sure that I make an educated decission. Anyone come from a big family? Was it fun or horrible? Was there any really bad feelings, like you felt ignored? Like your parents didn't have enough time for you? Or was it great? Please let me know

My husband gets visitation of his daughter every other weekend. He also gets 4 non consecutive weeks per year of "vacation" with his daughter. But because the birth mother has denied him visitation nearly all summer, the judge ruled yesterday that he have two weeks vacation right now. Our problem, however, is that the mother is threatening to call our house repeatedly, stake out, and call police if he is not with her at all times. Due to denied visitation when he actually got vacation from his job and because he has to work, I am spending the days with her and he will be here towards the late afternoon and obviously weekends. In his court order, it says "during visitation father must personally care and supervise child at all times" and that is what the birth mother is using. He just fought for 9mos to get these two weeks ,but cannot get that from his job. What is the worst that could happen over the next two weeks if she finds out that her daughter is with me some of the time?

I am a father of two, I have a son who is 6 years old and a newborn daughter who is 3 weeks old. Me and my wife leave our daughter in her cot alone so she can sleep and we have baby monitors so we can hear if she's crying. At first our son was very fascinated about the new arrival, he knew she was coming because we have been telling him about her for the last 6 months, ever since he asked why his mother has a large bulge in her stomach. Anyway, as I said, he's very fascinated by the baby and he asks us if he can go and sing to her to send her to sleep like we do to him so, naturally, we allow him to do this so he can develop a good 'big brother, little sister' bond. Needless to say I was very shocked when I went in to check on the two of them and my son was slapping his penis on her face. Surprisingly, she wasn't crying, in fact, she cries very little. I'm not sure how to confront my son about this and I think it's for the best if I just leave it be, I mean, it could just be a phase...

There seems to be a large contingent of people who believe that letting children stay up late is baadddd. Obviously if they're in school a reason for bedtime is that they need to be in bed at a certain time in order to get enough rest to function the next day, but when they're not, what's wrong with not setting one?

I married when I was 19 because of pregnancy(now I'm 28).My husband works all day and I stay at home with the children.I haven't got any other work to do(we have a maid for the cleaning and cooking) so we make kids, but already they are too many - 3 girls and 4 boys. The girls share one room and the boys share another. They all complain for not having enough place. The girls' ages r 8,5,5 and the boys are 7,4,2 and a newborn baby. It's not the only problem. The other problem is I haven't got anyone to leave the kids to when I go out with friends,so I usually leave them alone, but I feel it's not right.Give me some advice about the place(not enough).
