My son is almost 9 years old. He was diagnosed with ADHD in first grade, he is now going to 4th grade. He is medicated with Strattera. The other day he asked what his pill was for. I've been telling him it's his vitamin. Do you think I should tell him he has ADHD? I'm thinking he might be able to communicate his needs better if he knows he has it.

My 5 year old has conversations with me about his friends and how much he likes them and tells me I am a good friend of his. I tell him I'm not his friend but his Mother. I mentioned this conversation to a Moms group today and they seemed appalled I would say such a thing to a child (my interpretation)

Have you ever wondered, if only you were a better parent, would he/she have so many problems? What should have been done differently and when? Or is it really genetic and unavoidable? What have you found that helps your family cope?

wants sex or sexual whatever. I am tired of him, he forgets what I say more often than not, expects total respect from me but wont give it, thinks my being a SAHM is not a job or worth what he does (thinks he is more important) I have missed out on going back to school because we have a small child and he didnt want me to have a job because I would have financial means to leave and wouldnt be dependant on him anymore...I want out but dont know what to do, I see this as a dead relationship and I dont care to get it back.

Every time my son goes to his grandma's when his cousin is down from Arkansas he comes back acting like a little jerk, it takes me a good week to deprogram this behavior! His cousin is 4 years older than him and is an only child his mother doesn't dissapline him and he leans on this idea that he has ADD and he uses that as an excuse for the way he acts and when my son comes home he is acting just like him! What can I do to make this stop, right now he's in his room crying because I bought tan carpet and he doesnt like brown he wanted grey!!What do I do other than spanking him!! He's starting to get out of control with even the smallest of things!!Help, please!

I mean, *Professional* CLAIMS all breastfed kids are going to grow up to be savants, soooo, if mine was only breastfed for 6 months, will she be dumb sometimes and smary other times? I'm not with that breastfeeding for 18-24 month deal. You all can have that.

Should we just give our beloved babies to the nearest breastfeeder so that they can be properly nurtured and "bonded", since we can't do it right with our bottles?

I have a 2 year old daughter that I am really looking forward to being able to take school shopping and dress up on the first day of kindergarten and take a picture of for her scrapbook. But with alot of schools around going to uniforms, I am afraid I might not have that chance when she is 5. I personally dont like uniforms. I think kids are individuals, and if there is not competition over clothes, they will still compete over other things, like who has the coolest packback, lunch box, etc. Her first day of school is a milstone in her life that I dont think the school system has a right to take away from me. Just like my mom got to enjoy my first day of school. Can a parent fight this? What if they don't agree with it and just send their kid to school in regular clothes?
