How tall do you think my son will be as an adult.
Most 18 month old boys are shorter than mine!
My kid is of healthy weight as too, not fat or scrawny.

I told my ex that he could take our 8 month old daughter to his mothers for the weekend. but her house is filthy. i don't want him to think that i'm trying to keep his daughter from him. my daughter likes to play on the floor she is just learning to crawl. she barely has any room to walk b/c she has so much junk plus she smokes in her house which i don't. i was going to tell him to take her to his brothers house b/c it is cleaner there. any suggestions.

Whenever there are children who's heads are about even with my hands when I'm standing, I can't help but smack them in the head or push them over.

Is this normal, or is something wrong with me?

My 6 yo daughter "collects" things like rocks, broken crayons, pieces of plastic and glass, anything small that she considers a treasure. We have asked her several times not to do this because she leaves them in her pockets when she puts her clothes in the dirty laundry. Several times she has ruined an entire load of clothes when a crayon has ended up in the wash. She was diagnosed with ADHD in April and we are still trying to get her on the right meds. Could this be a sign of OCD? We're going crazy! Please help! Is there a professional out there who can answer? Someone who is familiar with OCD maybe?

Since my ex has never been, lets say, dedicated to being a dad, my son (10) has been raised mainly by me. I have never known how to raise him to be rough and tough. He is kind of an emotional child. He cry's at the drop of a hat. My husband and also my brother have both teased him about being a sissy. A a couple of people have called him gay. This really pisses me off. My step son on the other hand, has been raised to be a rough and tough boy, but he also has anger issues. He steals, lies, doesn't listen to us. So I dont think compaired to that type of behavior, I have raised my son too bad. My husband and I disagree. He thinks his son is just a normal boy and that my son needs to toughen up and stop being a "cry baby". Unfortunatly the men in the family agree with him, and the women with me. Any good, helpful advice on how to even both boys out?

My husband and I were dating and broke up before I found out that I was pregnant with my first son. I didn't see or hear from him until 2 months after my son was born. I assumed that he and I were done for good and I didn't want to have anything to do with him anyway so I gave my son my last name.
When my son was two months we started talking again and ended up back together. About a year later I got pregnant again and us being a happy couple now I gave my second son my husbands name.
His mom and my mom say that this could be damaging some how. I don't really think that it's a big deal. But I wanted some other input.
I really don't want to go through the hassle of changing my first sons name, but if going to be an issue later on I will.
By the way, even though were married i haven't changed my name either.

i have an aquaintance (really ) who is struggling to cope with a child (14) who is extremely violent and often attacks the younger siblings - not because they have somehow provoked this behaviour, but as a means of manipulating mum to have the child's own needs met. She is already involved with social services, and although i am extremely loth to place a call (very extremely loth to do so), i no longer know what to say and i am a t the point of telling her to stop offloading on me while she remains inactive about the situation. Any sensible advice due to the nature of this dilemma would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou.

How early in age did you know you were not like the other kids? Or did you have a child who turned out gay and as a child they did things that made you question it? If so what did they do? (please be serious i dont need your sarcasm) Thanks.

My 6 year old met her dad when she was 1 and has had a relationship with him ever since, she met my husbad when she was about 20 months and fell in love with him right away. She slowly over the years progressed from calling him Jon to Daddy-Jon now just Dad/Daddy, when people ask her about her step-dad she insists she doesn't have one and that she just simply has 2 dads. Her dad is really threatened by this and yells at her for it, he only sees her maybe...less than 2 months out of the year, never calls, no cards on birthdays, nothing...just when he is supposed by the court order. I feel awful for her and I tell her her feelings are totally ok but what should I when she's with him and doesn't know how to feel, I don't want her to get in trouble!! At our house her feelings are valid and appreciated, at her dad's..nope!

For instance: "Why is the sky blue?" Silly answer to that I gave was: "Well if it was green, we wouldn't know when to stop mowing." Or, "Where did I come from?" The silly answer to that: "You were on clearance at Wal-Mart, so I had a few bucks to spare and bought you." Don't worry, I did answer my kids correctly after they gave me the look of confusion! LOL It didn't scar them!! LOL

My neighbors have a child who is 4 years old and they are always yelling at him. He is not being hit though because I babysit him almost everyday and I don't see any bruises or marks on his body.
He tends to throw extreme tantrums though when someone tells him no. I know because I've had to deal with many of them. They are ridiculous and I sometimes find myself unable to handle them. I can understand that why the parents scream at him but do you think it can go to far. Should I contact any kind of authority for screaming at a child ? Idk if that question sounds silly, but i just want to know.

How much would you pay or do you charge for infant private care at their home? In California nannies make between 16-22/hour to go to peoples homes. Day cares typically make 5/hour b/c they have mass amounts of children. Whats fair? What would you pay? This is for an infant!

Would you like to see a law in place if you had the power to enact it, that women are MANDATORILY enforced to breastfeed their babies regardless of their wishes. Plus, there would be a nationwide ban on formula and it would be available through prescription only. Who cares about the mother and her desires, right? I ask this because I gave birth in Germany, and formula was hard to come by, so I was basically forced to breastfeed for 6 months and I hated every living second of it. Now, thank goodnedd, I'm back in the good old US of A, and I can buy Enfamil from even the corner 7 eleven. So, would that make you La Lecahe Leaguers happy? Even if mothers were unhappy and disgruntled?
