How early in age did you know you were not like the other kids? Or did you have a child who turned out gay and as a child they did things that made you question it? If so what did they do? (please be serious i dont need your sarcasm) Thanks.

A friend of mine who is gay said that he remembers knowing by the age of 5, when he started school. He remembers having crushs on boys by the age of 7 or 8. He had his first sexual encounter with another boy at the age of 11.

People I've talked to have always known. They just don't tell anyone right away. I work in an office full of gay men and they all tell me this. One of them was married and has three kids, he just couldn't admit it that he was gay, but he will tell you he always knew. I asked one of the other guys about it and he was almost in tears about how hard it is to tell people, he felt he was letting his family down or something. Nobody said anything about certain things they did as a child that made anyone question.

I am not gay but a friend of mine is.
She was married and had a child and then divorced and dated other men but she said that she was not happy.
Now many years after coming out she says looking back on it she was probably about 16 when she knew but never admitted it.

My brother is gay. I think we kind of always knew he was different. Can't really tell you why, we just did. But when he was younger, actually all the way up to his senior year, he liked girls, or made hisself maybe. He even got one girl pregnant his junior year. Finally a year out of high school he admitted that he was gay, and you know it was no shock to me, like I said some how I always knew.....

mom says that she remembers being a little girl feeling about the other little girls the same way they felt about little boys. But she didn't understand it and didn't admit it until she was in her twenties.
