my baby girl was born at 38 weeks, but weighed only 5.9 pounds, doc said everything was fine and that she is just a small baby..now at 4 months she is weighing only 12.5 pounds..she was exclusively breast fed..and for past past one month she has been getting 3 ounces of formula bed time. She doesnt nap more than 2 hours during the day. She sleeps at 7pm -7am and gets up for 3 times for a feed. During the day she feeds almost every 2 hours..
do you think she is not getting enogh and i shuld introduce more formula..she is always trying to put her hands into her mouth...

I am usuallly Super Mom when it comes to pregnancy questions and infant/toddler/adolescent questions, I have read like every book out there. My 6 month old hardly slept last night, and she's a good sleeper, usually sleeps 10 hrs once those lights go out, this morning she had diareah and I just took her temp and it was 102. She is drinking and eating regularly, but her pedi said not to worry. Any suggestions on what to do next ????

i have just recently posted a question that was suppost to have this question in with it but i couldnt remember it when it came time to type it out... anyways... i have been told that my baby is eating to much to often and then by others i have been told that my baby is eating to often but when she does eat its not as much as it should be. tomorrow she will be 5 weeks old she eats about 3 1/2 oz. every 2 to 2 1/2 hours. even in the middle of the night she will wake me up. she eats less in the middle of the night then during the day. i was wandering if anyone elses baby ate like that at 5 weeks old. also when she was 2 weeks old she was put in the hospital (for a little over a week) because of having broncities and RSV she wasnt eating alot and when she was eating she was throwing it up, so should i start to see her weight go up a little, because she hadnt gained any weight in her first 3 weeks of being born. the doctors arnt concerned im just wandering if she will gain it fast now.

I'm pregnant 23 weeks with my first. I was thinking about the future and what do you do when you're breastfeeding and trying not to get pregnant again. I see questions or hear about a woman getting pregnant while breastfeeding. I wouldn't think taking birth control pills is an option, so what's left condoms and charting? I realize this is a pretty odd question, but after baby I'd like to get back into shape before having another baby. Thanks for your answers in advance.

i had my baby on feb 6th of this year. well my question is, approx when do babys start to smile? she does this thing where it looks like she is smileing but everyone keeps telling me that she just has gas, its just so cute i cant wait until she starts to smile and laugh, she also does this thing when shes sleeping, where it looks like shes smileing and then she makes a noice that could sound like she is laughing. i know that all babys are different and some go threw things before others but im excited and cant wait for that first cute and real smile :) thanks

Hi I have a 3 week old son, I have been using the newborn pampers and it absorbs really well. Unfortunately they fit alittle snug on him, so i switched to the pampers 1-2 up to 15 lbs and they are much different then the ones I was using before. It leaked! and i hated it. I would end up changing my sons clothes 3-4 times a day. I tried Huggies and they also leaked...I am frustrated and need some advice on what diapers are better. Please advise...

My daughter is just coming up to 5 months old, we're just starting to give her solids but she's still mostly having milk during the day. Over the last month or so, I've had major problems getting her to take the last bottle of the day from me before bedtime as she cries constantly when I'm trying to feed her.
I'm a 'hands on' Dad who's always took an active role in feeding/changing/bathing etc as much as I can whilst fitting this around work but Mum is going back to work soon, after maternity leave and we'll be having problems if the little one isn't taking her feeds.
She takes her other bottles from me with no problems the rest of the day, it's just the one before bed that's causing me frustration!

My five month old now has two teeth, so I bought the Orajel baby toothpaste and brush and he LOVES it. He actually cries when I stop brushing. I was brushing them yesterday and realized it'd been like, ten minutes then it occurred to me that I could be damaging his little teeth.. I don't add more paste, he just likes the feel of the little plastic bristles on his gums.. So, could I be hurting him more than helping?

I am 30 weeks pregnant and having a girl! My husband and I cannot agree on a name for the life of us. I want something not so common and out of the blue last week, he said " What about the name Reese?" I have always liked it. So I think we are going to name her Reese Elizabeth. Most people I talk to really like it, but I have a friend who said " Oh, like the candy..I;ll have to call her peanut butter!" I got so mad. I really like the name but if I use it, am I setting her up to get picked on for life?!?! Help!!
