Thinking that my wife was not due till August, she introduced me to the concept of a "Down and Dirty Diaper Party" (aka: the mans version of a baby shower). The idea was that I would set the time (July 10th) at around noon. To my surprise, our daughter made a surprise entrance into our world (July 8th). I still held the party and it went off fairly well where my male friends delivered gifts of diapers of different brands.
Now to your question, after going through all the diapers that ranged from newborn to size 2, we decided that Huggies natural fit was the best. We now also use Huggies Overnights when she goes down for the night. The sizes usually depend on the weight of the child. They do not account for the length of the baby. When our child was born, she weighed 6lbs. even and was 21 1/4" in length. My question to you is, how much does your son weigh and how long is he? Also, sometimes the elastic band around the legs can get turned in and allow leakage around the legs. And even the most absorbant diapers have their limits. I suggest changing the child a little more often and in turn will also decrease the chances of diaper rash from occurring.

my daughter will be 5 weeks old tomorrow and i use pampers swaddlers, i havent had a leak yet, they hold a lot too. the only problem was that they seemed really big on my baby, even now they seem a little on the big side, but shes growing into them. (btw my daughter isnt a small baby, when she was born she weighted 8.7 pounds. so its not because she was to small) good luck though diapers suck sometimes. also sometimes the regular store brand work better then the name brands, at least thats what many people have told me. i liked huggies alot but they dont hold as much as pampers, sometimes when she sleeps a good 4 or 5 hours at night she doesnt get changed right away. =/

We tried Huggies and Papers also, and they leaked for us also. Of all the diapers we tried, the Walmart brand worked the best for us. It's called Parents choice.
Try it on him. If it still leaks, then you changed to soon to the bigger diapers. They should be snug. I was amazed how tight the nurses in the hospital made the diapers on my daughter (she spent 10 days in the hospital).
The good news, if the Parents Choice works, they are much cheaper then Huggies and pampers.

I liked pampers swaddlers....they had a snug fit could hold a TON and never leaked. Not to mention they are super soft and the same price as the regular old pampers! They are also cut for newborns in particular and only go up to size 2 when their bodies change.

The Pampers are by far the best diapers as far as leak protection. (I've been in childcare for almost 12 years now.) I would suggest keeping him in the newborn diapers and just keeping the taps wide so it's looser. Unless the diaper is leaving marks, or he seems to be uncomfortable it's probably not too tight. If all else fails, LUVS are second best to Pampers, you can always try those. Good luck and Congrats!

Pampers and Luvs aren't really good to use. Huggies Supreme and Walmart 's White Cloud works pretty good. But you might need to change the baby every 2-3 hr.

Get the Pampers Swaddlers-size 1 (not 1-2). They worked great for my little one.

White cloud from walmart....they are the "cheap" brand but i have found they work better than huggies and pampers. and both of those are way more expensive!!! Good luck to you...i do know that different brands fit different babies so if i were you i would try two or three diff. brands and see which works best for your baby!!
GOOD LUCK

We had leakage with the Pampers but I have had absolutely no problems with Wal-Mart's Parents Choice and Target brand diapers. And they are a lot less expensive than the name brands.

Did you try the regular Pampers or the Pampers Swaddlers? I used the Pampers Swaddlers on my son until he go to size three and they never leaked, I loved them. If you go to their website they might be able to send you coupons or free samples. Good Luck.
