I need some help before I kill my spouse! We have a six month old baby who was colic and is not anymore. He spent time in the NICU at birth and was very sick with immature lungs, he is fine now. Just some background.
My spouse thinks I am spoiling him and every time the baby acks up it is my fault. I am sick of it!
My thought is that babies usually cry for a need and i want to nourish that need and figure it out, not ignore it and wait for it to go away. Am I wrong?

For some reason, my husband and I are having difficulty reading our son during feedings. He does extremely well during the first few bites--opens mouth wide, etc. But, then he starts to make fussy sounds. During fussiness, he continues to open his mouth wide when the spoon is brought to his mouth. But, since he is fussy, it seems like he does not want anymore food, however, he continues to open mouth. I have tried feeding him faster, but this does not help. I also stop feedings when he starts to get fussy, thinking that he is full, but he then cries, making me think he wants to eat more! Has anyone experiened this dual behavior before and/or have any suggestions? Thanks!

My friend is looking for a pacifier but they don't have it at any stores around here anymore and she can't remember what its called. My son used them too but I can't remember the name. They are usually two colors, like red and blue and they have a big hole on each side, you can see the baby's mouth while it sucking. It has just thin lines of plastic outline on each side. They are usually one color with little dots of the another color on the think plastic part. We can't find them online anywhere bc we don't know the name. Please help, her kid baby will only take this kind of pacifier and she is down to only 1!

We unfortunately introduced her pacifier as a newborn. Now at 7 months old she needs it to go to sleep. She wakes up in the middle of the night and cries for it. I go in, put it in her mouth, and she goes back to sleep - UNTIL it falls out again. Shes having some major sleep issues as it is, and Im just now starting to give her some "tough love"! I dont get her out of her crib anymore and comfort her every 10 minutes or so (on advice from my pediatrition). Anyway, we figure that since we are training her to not rely on mommy to go to sleep that we might as well take the pacifier away as well. Its going to be terrible though. Any advice to make this transistion go more smoothly?? I would LOVE any advice. Its going to be a hard few weeks and I need some sleep!

Ok I am finally getting a job ( a very good job). I havent worked since I was pregnant with my son. All I have been around is my son all day everyday for the past 9 months since he was born. So of course sepration anxiety is there for him. But is it normal for me to have seperation anxiety? Im so terrified to leave him at daycare and know that he will be looking for me. But i absolutely cannot pass up the job because its a great job as an assistant at $18 an hour. What can i do to ease the day care process for BOTH of us. I probably sound like a terrified freak but i need help.

Hello all! Im having a c section next monday and im just getting worried about the in laws. There is A LOT OF THEM....and I want to know what or how I can make sure our brand new lil baby doesnt get passed around from person to person. How can we limit how long each person holds her or the amount? There are seriously around 25 of them (they are a close family so they would all be there) and I know its a new baby and everyone is excited but i am not at all comfortable with her being passed around. Did anyone else feel this way or have this problem?

THanks in advance!

I had an interesting conversation with my partner the other day, and wanted some opinions on it. i am 29 weeks pregnant with my first and was looking for some newborn toys for baby to play with. All have some sort of "educational" value to them, whether it be crinkly, crunchy ears, or a certian texture etc. When I pointed this out to partner, his comment was "why do babies always need something "educational" and are constantly being pushed. whay can't they be allowed to just be babies and have fun." He says children are pressured from the word go by pushy parents and that there should be a balance between the two. i hadn't really thought about it before. Do u agree or disagree?

My 8 month old son keeps shaking his head back and forth (like he's saying no). I know some children do this because it's a new "trick" they learned but I don't believe that is the case here. He has had a few ear infections so that may be it - or maybe the ear pain is from the teething?? He has his two bottom teeth (got them at 5 months) and now the top two are close - his top left is so close you can see the white about to break through and there is a little hole starting. He has some slight congestion which I believe goes along with the teething. Has anyone heard of the head shaking in relation to pain? I just hate to run to the doctors without having any real cause to believe he has an infection. He has never run a fever with previous infections and has never tugged on his ears so it's hard to tell with him. And if it is ear pain because of the teething, is it just pain or is it an infection that would respond to anitbiotics?? Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

My friend is having a baby shower and i haven't seen her for almost two years, i am going to the baby shower, what can i get??

I've never been to a baby shower before, so haven't a clue, but i do know that people normally get bottle's, baby grow's and clothes, but i wanna get something different.

Any woman out there who've had babies please tell me what it was that you needed most of but didn't get.

Apparently it's a boy.

Thank you!

My six month old little girl has raised red bumps in her diaper area, it's above her pubic bone and a little on her bottom as well. I've been treating it with Balmex but it isn't responding at all so I'm wondering if it could be a yeast infection. Does anyone have experience with this?

I'm thinking of having a way of introducing our baby products home delivery service to the public by having an "open house". You would be able to stop by & view product samples available as well as sign up for diaper service & layaway programs. If this came to your area would you make the time to stop by to check it out?

For my baby, it is "Lost Without You" by Robin Thicke. She loves the video, too. I think it is the black and white and the dancing on the bed. I apologize in advance to the world for raising a YouTube junkie. Her own videos are her favorites, though. And other babies' too of course.
