My 1st one was 13 months and the second was 15 months. Every child is their own individual. They will do what they want when their bodies are ready to do it. Be patient, because when he does start walking, watch out mommy!! :)

Haven't you heard? Forget everyone's advice and suggestions once you have your own children. No one really knows what each individual child should be doing. Anyway, I started walking at 9 months. My son started walking at 10 months. My 1st daughter started walking at about 11 months and my 2nd daughter went back and forth from crawling to walking around 10 months - 1 year.

My daughter started walking at 10 1/2 months. According to other parents, my daughter (who's 2) should be on her way to college already, lol. Take what other parents say with a grain of salt, of course their kid is the smartest, cutest, best baby ever! Also, boys at this age are a little slower developmentally, so it may take him a little longer to learn to walk, but that is OK! The longer it takes them to walk, the safer they are because the younger a baby is, the less direction they have (in terms of knowing where they want to go.)

I have 4 children. The oldest 2 walked unaided just around their first birthday, one just before and one just after. #3 was pretty determined to keep up with big brother and big sister and walked unaided at 10 months. Our youngest was born when the older ones were 18, 15, and 12. She basically didn't need to walk since someone was always willing to pick her up whenever she raised up her little arms. She didn't walk unaided until she was 15 months old. About a year is a general guideline for babies to begin walking. But, anywhere between 9-18 months is normal. Each child is different and masters milestones at their own pace. When your son is ready, he will walk. Tell anyone who says he should be walking by now, "Thank you for your concern, but he isn't ready yet. He will walk when it is right for him." I currently care for a little boy who just turned 1. He is not walking nor pulling himself up onto things yet. He just mastered crawling. He has had his 1 year well-baby check up and he is perfectly fine, healthy, right on track for everything.

I have 2 daughters ages 2 and 5. My oldest starting walking right around her first birthday. My youngest walked at about 13 months old she was a lil lazy. Every child is different just remember that. And when they start walking next comes running and will be chasing them ALL day.

There is a very WIDE range of normal when it comes to walking...and 10 months old is still kinda young and in no way should be expected to walking by now.

My oldest daughter was 9 months when she started walking...my second daughter was 11 months when she started walking....and my youngest was 14 months when she started walking. I have even known babies to not walk until 18 months and everything still be normal.

Relax...your little one is doing fine and don't listen to other people so much.

At 10 months mine were beginning to take steps...2 steps, then fall, then up to 3 and 4 steps in the next few weeks. By their first birthday, they were making their way around the house...not perfectly...but once they got the hang of it they learned very quickly.

Just remember that every child is different and will start walking and hitting all the milestones at their own pace. Your baby is not "behind" by any means. Don't worry about people telling you he should be walking by now. I'm sure that he will begin taking those first steps soon...when he is ready.

Good luck...the real fun is about to start!

My daughter doesn't walk yet. She can climb up to the furniture, etc. and stand. Sometimes, she will move along whatever she's standing on. But she can't walk by herself. The normal age for walking is 1 year or a little after. He's fine. There are many 10 month olds, that aren't fully walking yet.

There is a HUGE range of normal for walking. Some start as early as 9 months, as late as 18 months. My son is 15 months, and has only recently started taking steps on his own. Perfectly normal. A lot of it is genetic, if you or your partner walked later, he may walk later as well. Me and my siblings all walked well after a year, and my son seems to be following the same period. As long as your son is crawling around, definitely don't start worrying yet. Enjoy it - because soon after they start walking, they start running, and then we'll never get to stop chasing after them!! Hope this helps!

Although, my oldest was about 9 months and youngest about the same, I encouraged my children to crawl for the hand and eye cordination they need.

to encourage walking you can give him sturdy things to help him get up and walk around like a coffee table, if he only has a wide area to with nothing to hold onto he may not walk as soon. Also the toys that you push and walk behind help as well. But give him another month Im sure he is fine.

All my kids were different. I had one start walking the day he turned 8 months old...and one that walked at 13 months. AND everything in between! Your child will walk when they are ready.
