Use it on yourself before you use it on your baby. I was using one, very carefully and my son got two nosebleeds. So I used it on me, it is now in the garbage.

From birth you can use a nasal aspirator. Be sure to only use it about half strength, meaning, don't totally squash the bulb, just a little squish is good, then just barely stick it inside his nose, and release.

This does hurt some children. Saline sprays may be a better option, they liquefy the snot and let it run easier, you just need a few drops in each nose hole, and then sit baby up and let gravity work.

Use it as soon as its needed! When I was in the hospital with my baby daughter, the nurses used it when she was only a day or so old. The nasal apsirators, or bulbs, have been a saving grace for me. My 7 month old is in daycare and always keeps a cold. I dont know what I would do with out it!

possibly it is not congestion yet purely a runny nostril with sniffles? i become attempting saline drops with aspirator and not something might come out using fact there become no longer something in there. Her nostrils have been open and she or he only had a chilly. yet do try saline drops as they'd help. positioned one drop in each nostril and then suction out.

There is no age requirement. That is what they use in the hospital. Just make sure you aren't sticking it up in there too far.

Just be very, very careful.
