Be employed and financially stable, preferably having completed your education.

All the other stuff, having two parents, owning a home, being married are good as well, but not necessary. Babies are expensive and if you want to give them a good chance in life you have to have a good start yourself with an education, some maturity and financial stability.

Make sure your finances are stable enough to support that baby.
They are beautiful wonderful fulfilling little people and if you want them to stay beautiful, wonderful and fulfilled you have to be ready to cough up the dough.
It costs hundreds of thousands of dollars to raise a child; not to mention a lot of time and patience.
Be fair to yourself and the baby by being sure you are ready financially and emotionally. Once you have a baby you go to the bottom of the list for needs.

Go to your doctor make sure all is healthy with you. Start taking vitamins and then start the "implantation process". Studies have shown that an early deficit of vitamin C may cause spina bifida - better safe than sorry get your nutrition going, make sure your teeth are good and all else is fine and then go for it!!!!!
