Newborn & Baby - March 2007

She is at the sitters 3 days a week and naps fine there. Naps in a playard there, we use a crib. I put her down at the same times the sitter does for her naps. She will sometimes cry first and then just baby talk and whatever or just baby talk the whole time. This continues up to 45 minutes sometimes and she is still awake. It seems when she does fall asleep it is usually only for 30 minutes. I get so frusturated, I dont know what to do. I have just left her go and other times I go in her room and lay her back down (cause she is usually sitting up or standing up in crib). She goes to bed at 9 every night and is up anywhere between 7-8am so she does sleep all night. Should I just give up on naps, seems she is too young for that. When our son was her age he slept from 10-12 and then from 2-4 and then he was okay for the evening. We have been giving her an evening nap which is no more than 1 hour, if not she gets to grouchy, any suggestions would be great. Thanks

I have an 1 year old and he was breastfed and I let him sleep in our bed since he was born. Last week he got sick and everytime he nurses he throws it up so wednesday night i didn't let him nurse, then thursday i let him nurse twice, then he didn't nurse again until last night....he won't go to sleep unless I nurse him I have tried a bottle, a sippy cup, and a pacifier...nothing is working so I put him in his bed and all he does is cry....is this "bad" for him?

I recently had my first girl and she wears lots of dresses that require tights. Most of the undershirts that come with the dresses are the onesie-type snap crotch jobbies and I can't figure out whether to put the onesie or the tights on first!

he cried for 4+ hours last night so i kept nursing him until he turned the breast down (i think they were probably empty by then). maybe he wasn't hungry and i gave him a tummy ache with overfeeding? or did he really want to nurse for hours and hours on end?

My twins are four months old, Ilost all of the baby weight by the time they were two weeks old, but I can't seem to lose the extra loose skin. I've tried everything that I can think of, has anyone else had this problem or know what to do about it? I really want to be back to normal before my husband gets home from his deployment in June.

The problem with my daughter is that she likes to be held and rocked before putting her to sleep. And even when I do put her down she starts to cry and I have no choice but to pick her up again. I need some suggestions or tips to break this cycle. Thanx!

I have a 17 day old baby girl, and I planned on breast feeding her, but she had bad jaundice when she was a few days old and my pediatrician had me put her on formula to make sure she was getting enough milk, now she wont breastfeed. My question is, I pump some of my milk out everyday and feed her a 2-3 breast milk bottles and the rest of her feedings are formula. How long will my milk last if my baby isnt fully breastfeeding? I want to give her as much breastmilk as possible but im worried since she eats formula too, my body wont keep making enough milk.

My concern is that since our daughter is constantly sucking on her soft toys, I don't want to introduce any soap into her system. So, if we do use soap, will it wash out in the rinse cycle even though the toy is very pretty thick with material (i.e. a fuzzy bear, etc.)?

My son is 8mo old and too big for his infant car seat, so we bought the Britax Boulevard and have it fully reclined (which is practically upright) and rear facing. When he falls asleep his poor little head falls forward. Is there a product out there that can help? I miss the old infant seat where he could sleep easily. It looks like it can't be good for his neck.

I had my tubes tied on January 4, 2007 and now I noticed that I have a lump above my belly button that is very noticable through my clothes. It is nothing to do with the incision that they made under the belly button. When I push on it, I hear a crackling noise but it doesn't hurt. What should I do in this situation. My cousin who had the same tubal procedure like I did last week does not have a lump on her stomach. I called the doctors office and am waiting for them to call me back for an appt. What should one do? Thanks
