I recently had my first girl and she wears lots of dresses that require tights. Most of the undershirts that come with the dresses are the onesie-type snap crotch jobbies and I can't figure out whether to put the onesie or the tights on first!

LOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
he he he! This is a hilarious Q.
I truly had to stop and think about it! The tights go on first though. That way once the onsie is snapped, the tights are secure. Hope this helped. Congats on your daughter!

Under Tights

I agree, this is a cute question!

I put my daughter's onesie on and then her tights. I've never had a problem with her tights not staying up and believe me, she's a skinny little gal.

They sell those 'panta-loons' (that's what I call them) or bloomers that you can put over everything so that all you see is dress, bloomers and her tights sticking out on her legs (if you're getting my picture). My daughter is almost 2 and I have this problem where I never want anyone to see her diaper if she's wearing a dress (or her undies when she's a little older) so I will have her wear the panta-loons or bloomers or a pair of cloth shorts under a dress.

Food for thought!

I have boys, but if I had a girl I would put the onesie under the tights.

The onesies go on first, and then the tights on after. At the nursery I work, it is similar with baby gros, and parents always seem to snap the baby gro first, then put the tights on over the top.

I put the tights over the onesie. The only reason I knew to do that is bc the tights had ruffles on the rear.

I put the onesie over tights. Those tights never stay up on their own... so the onesie keeps them in place.

If they are plain tights, under the onesie, if they have ruffles on the butt like a lot of my daughters do, over the onesie so you can see the pretty lace ruffles.

I believe it would be best to put the onesie on first, then the tights. I think it'd be more comfortable for her that way.
