She is being a 4 month old and exploring her tongue! She has found something and she likes the way it feels. Every baby goes through this. Enjoy it and do it back. Some babies just do it earlier then others.

LOL! My daughter started doing it at about 4 months too. So all the pictures of the past two months (since she still does it regularly) are of her grinning and sticking her tongue out. She's just discovered this great new toy that she never loses access too. It's completely normal and it's fun to stick your tongue back at her and or to stick yours out first and have them grin at you and stick it back in response. Just play with her and enjoy the cuteness.

Babies do a lot of things that we look at as strange. Little boys around 6 months tend to slam their heads on things and giggle (we think it must hurt, but they discover that they have rythym), some babies like to pull hair, yours is sticking out her tounge they are pretty normal behaviors for kids until they hurt themselves badly or your doctor tells you they aren't.

Thats normal from what I understand. She is just trying to be verbal and baby talk, sometimes it just takes a while for her to get the handle on actually make a sound. But practice makes perfect.

She probly just discovered Hey I have a tongue, look what I can do with it! My daughter did it too. After she discovered her tongue, she started blowing raspberries at everybody and would laugh like crazy when we did it back to her.

Its a discovery thing. Its like " wow it moves" lol When my kids did that I would give them a bottle with some water, or juice in it. My gram told me to try a little bit of baby fruit when they did it. Its very normal.

This is Erikson's Oral stage. Very normal. She will also try to kiss you using her tounge. If she WASNT doing this then there could be a problem! Enjoy her oral stage, its cute for the age.

Enjoy! Its Normal.....
