No wipes! Warm water will do just fine. Keep the Vaseline or petroleum jelly on it THICK! Other then that keep him comfy and happy!

Congratulations!!! I tried to IM you before you had the baby to let you in on some tidbits but was unable to figure out how. My 4 yr old had a circumcision. The doctor just told me to keep the Vaseline on and when I changed him to just check it and wipe a little with cotton or swab then add more Vaseline. When you don't the urine will get on the wound and it will burn. That is all You have to do and it felt like within days it went to normal skin. I do not recall it lasting long. Hope this helps...

I used a wetted q-tip to gently clean around my son's penis. Then, i applied vaseline the same way. I also heard you can use a triple antibiotic ointment, like Neosporin, or Bacitracin to help it heal faster. Also, i always covered it with a little gauze pad before i put the diaper on (to prevent chafing from rubbing against the diaper). Did your Dr. or hospital send you home with gauze pads? If not, you can buy them cheaply at any drug store. He should'nt be feeling too much pain...sometimes i think it bothers mommy more than it does baby! :) Just keep giving it care and attention, and it will be healed in no time! I think i did the process for a week-maybe 2. Good luck!

Just wipe around the circumcision and put a big glob of vaseline on the penis every time you change him. I used neosporin. Touch it as little as possible and keep an eye on it.
Dont use wipes they have chemicals that might irritate baby. Take some gauze and some warm water and gently clean him.

DO NOT USE WIPES. They contain alcohol and will hurt him. It really doesn't need to be cleaned. Just rinse it with warm water (don't rub or touch) and put the vaseline on thick. It will take a week or so to heal.

Just clean around it (don't rub)with a wipe until the circ is about 5-7 days old, then you can bathe him.Get vaseline in a tube and just squeeze a bit onto his penis or out of a jar and drop a hunk onto it. It should heal completely by about a week. It shouldn't be bothering him much at this point....I hope this helps.

Edited: Clean around his penis (scrotum etc) with a wipe but do not rub the wipe on the circ site.....

DO NOT wash him there with anything at all. Keep vaseline on it and cover it with a square gauze. This helps absorb urine when he pees and it doesn't hurt him as much. Do not submerge it in water, or put soap or wipes on it until the doctor says it is completely healed.

Best of luck to you
God Bless

I was scared to touch it just like you.Make sure you wipe it with an alcohol wipe (yes, alcohol wipe....this speeds up the healing and dries it out) . Also put vaseline on it. It will be okay in about a week.

When my first was born I was told to use rubbing alcohol w/ Vaseline. My second son, born 10 yrs later they said not to use Vaseline. My youngest ended up healing faster and didn't look or smell as bad. Use q tips. Do not dig.

EDITED!!!
Sorry!! Don't do it! I did not read so carefully.I thought I read about his belly button. LOL What others said is good. Use vasaline because it helps keep urine from hurting it and keeps things from sticking to it. SORRY!!! LOL OUCH!

Use lots of vaseline, and gauze. Just take a square of gauze, and put a blob of vaseline on it. Then put the gauze on the head of the penis, do not press down. You need to do that for about 5 days or so.
