My five month old now has two teeth, so I bought the Orajel baby toothpaste and brush and he LOVES it. He actually cries when I stop brushing. I was brushing them yesterday and realized it'd been like, ten minutes then it occurred to me that I could be damaging his little teeth.. I don't add more paste, he just likes the feel of the little plastic bristles on his gums.. So, could I be hurting him more than helping?

No, that wont hurt him as long as the toothpaste is gone. My now 2 and a half year old was the same way. She just loved to chew on toothbrushes. I had about 3 of them for her incase we lost one. I would treat it the same as a soother and boil it at night when she slept to get the germs off. That is so cute that your little guy does that too.

As long as you are being gentle there is no problem with it. It will help stimulate more blood flow to his gums and make teething easier for him.
