I am starting my baby on solid food and have run into a problem. She absolutely hates rice cereal. Is it ok to start her on baby food first. If not, any suggestions on how to spice up the cereal to make it more appealing? Thanks in advance.

i believe my 6 month old daughter is having a hard time with her teeth. will it cause her to run a fever off and on, vomiting, diarrea, not wanting to eat or drink anything? she doesnt act like she is sick and when she cries i can tell its one of those cries like something is hurting her. i've been giving her teething tablet and every once in a while some nighttime orajel. i try not to though cause i heard that orajel will make the gums harder for the teeth to come through. she has vomited a couple of time and having diarrea, we have been giving her anything different to eat. her teeth is the only thing i can think of that is bothering her, cause she dont want to eat like she usually does and she keep chewing on her index finger and sucking her bottom lip. i feel bad cause i cant do anything else for her.

she's fifteen weeks old and always turns her head the same way to sleep etc, her head is now going flat on one side. Doctor thinks that it could be where her head was turned while I was pregnant because she was so low down. None of my other 4 where like this, is there anything I can do to try and even it out (have tried turning her head while sleeping and 'wedging' her up one side in her bouncy chair but she still manages to turn her head to the flat side)?? Help please!!

I have thought of everything. I think... but how about an original way top present, or just anything? Oh, she is having a girl, do any day, her shower is this thursday, we are in dental assisting school, and the girls in our class have put together a little money each for the purchase of a crib, but some are able to do more, for someone who does not have much. Please help?

My three month old baby is so grumpy!! He is constantly crying is not happy to sit in his swing or bouncer by himself for two seconds.. It is really hard as I have two other children, ages 3 and 1 who also need a lot of my time and when I cant put him down I am getting really stressed.. He is well fed, always clean and dry and sleeps really well, but he just doesnt seem happy when he is awake. I never had this trouble with my other two at all. How can I get him to just sit in his swing or rocker for 5 mins without screaming?? please help!!

We didn't and I kind of worry about that. It was really pushed at the hospital and via mail when I was pregnant and we opted out because it is very, very expensive. Did anyone spend the money and bank the cord blood. Have you ever used it?

what is pablem and where can i get it? I hope this isn't a dumb question, but I've never had this problem with my other babies. Grace is 5 weeks old and has not slept through a night yet, she goes to sleep easy enough but never stays that way for more than 20 minutes,I've tried letting her cry it out but not only does it just make her more frantic, I can't stand doing that to her,I've tried several other methods too nothing has worked and my maternity leave is over in a matter of days,HELP!!!

My 5 month baby is a healthy and happy baby gaining weight well. But every night when we put her down to sleep in her cot she is sick. She is not sick at all during the day and it happens every evening at the same time. We keep her upright for at least 30 mins after her milk. It only started happening the last couple of weeks. Could it be Acid Reflux and what is the best thing for it?

I've been fortunate enough to stay at home with my baby now 17 months old and I feel it's harder for me to quit breastfeeding than it is her. It's been a very special time for us but I haven't had a full nights sleep in over 2 years and I think it's finally getting to me. I've weaned another son at 9 months and want to keep front putting myself through that much pain again. We are very attached to each other and I wonder if anyone has any subtle ways you've heard to wean babies except quiting cold turkey without getting her really mad at me. Please don't mention cow's milk, I'm too natural to do that to her. She drinks soy occasionally but has never taken a bottle or pacifier. Thanks! Jennifer

I am so afraid that my child is mentaly challenged. I don't mean this in a affencive way to parents with children in this situation, but how can you tell at 6 months old, almost 7 in a week?

My baby doesn't make sounds like "dada" like the articles on all these websites say she should. She says things like,
"oooooooooooooh" and "mmmmmmmmm."

Is her speech not developing correctly, or is this normal? What did your baby do? HELP!

I just started work last week and my mother-in-law takes care of our 3 month old. She's very nurturing and loves taking care of him. I feel like I'm already loosing the bond i had w/ him before i started working and it's shifting to his grandma. He's not a very expressive child, but when i come home from work he doesn't seem happy to see me or even seem to recognize me :( I was wondering if anyone has had experience with this and how it has effected your relationship w/ your children now? In the future, is he going to think "my grandma raised me because my mother worked"? Do any of you who had both parents that worked and were mostly w/ another relative when you were younger think that now?

Please, no mean answers. I feel guilty enough as it is about working. But if i'm overthinking it, please let me know.

My daughter goes down for a nap an hour after waking at 8am, sleeps around an hour, goes back down around11am, has another hour long sleep, then is up for 2-3 hours before having another hour long nap. She goes to bed at around 8pm and sleeps thru till 8am. Does this sound normal? I'm worried shes sleeping to much?

Is that what I should start with or is it ok to start with fruit and vegs? I've read that I should wait until 4months. She is 3months 3 weeks and is consuming about 51/2 ounces every 4 hrs. About 25-27 ounces daily. In the morning she is still hungry after her bottle or iis ready for more about 1-2 hrs later. I've read plenty and am still unsure since all children are different

i know that this is a major no no BUT she just sleeps so peacefully that way. i let her sleep on her tummy when im awake and taking care of things in her bedroom or mine. she can sleep for hours this way. as soon as we lay her down on her back she is screaming her head off. she sleeps better in her glider than her crib or bassinet. i know the tummy sleeping stops her body from shaking and that is the main reason she waked up alot cause she scared herself half to death that way. also when you burp her over your shoulder she falls right to sleep in that position. and when she does manage to stay sleep its only for no more than an hour or so IF that. my mom and grandmother raised us all on back sleeping and sees nothing wrong but i told her times do change and it is not recommended.

so moms out there please let me know what you really think!!!!
