i believe my 6 month old daughter is having a hard time with her teeth. will it cause her to run a fever off and on, vomiting, diarrea, not wanting to eat or drink anything? she doesnt act like she is sick and when she cries i can tell its one of those cries like something is hurting her. i've been giving her teething tablet and every once in a while some nighttime orajel. i try not to though cause i heard that orajel will make the gums harder for the teeth to come through. she has vomited a couple of time and having diarrea, we have been giving her anything different to eat. her teeth is the only thing i can think of that is bothering her, cause she dont want to eat like she usually does and she keep chewing on her index finger and sucking her bottom lip. i feel bad cause i cant do anything else for her.

Sounds like she is teething. She might also be drooling a lot. Check her Temperature atleast thrice in a day. She might be having fever when she is crying a lot. You are doing fine with her. Get her a teething ring. You will just need to see what she likes to chew on. Go to a doctor to get a medicine for vomiting and diarrhea. Try to give her your washed finger to bite on. That will help her a lot. I did that with my son for his upper teeth and they came out faster. Give her Tylenol as she is in pain. Do ask the doctor for the dosage. Once her pain subsides she will eat. It happens that kids don't want to eat or have milk from bottle. Breastfeeding is something they love right now a lot and they do that for long periods. That way the kid remains clam and happy also. Try to feed her milk when she is asleep. That way you will be satisfied that she is not starving. Teething is very painful for the child and parents. Bare with her. She will be fine when they pop out.

Teething usually doesnt cause vomiting and diarrhea. She could have a stomach virus which is adding to the misery of teething. Has she been doing this long? Just overnight? If just overnight, dont give her anything to eat until the vomiting has stopped. Give her small amounts of liquids to drink and see if she can hold that down. Orajel doesnt cause gums to become hard. It only helps with pain. If your daugther isnt feeling better in a day or two, then call her doctor and have her checked. Good luck.

It sounds like she may have a bit of a bug on top of it. Most babies don't vomit while they are teething - there are exceptions, of course, but with all of those symptoms it is highly possible that she has come down with something on top of the teething. We just went through that here - two teeth coming in during a horrible stomach bug - it was no fun at all! If she's is still vomiting regularly, lay off the food and drink until she stops throwing up for awhile, and then slowly reintroduce bland foods and drinks. You may want to consult with your pediatrician on this as well, he may recommend giving your daughter an electrolyte solution so that she does not become dehydrated. At that age, they can become dehydrated very quickly and if it gets bad enough, would have to be hospitalized. Good luck! Hope she feels better soon! Check out these sites:

Well all the signs are there for cutting teeth. They can be rather painful when they come through. If you have a sore tooth yourself you know how bad it hurts to eat. The only thing you need to be careful of if she is throwing up a lot and has diarrhoea is that she doesn't get dehydrated. If you are really concerned take her to the Dr for your own piece of mind.

Fever, vomiting, diarrhea and not wanting to eat can all be signs of teething. I used the oragel only when my son was really bad but most of the time he got relief from the freezer teething rings. They are great.

this is the time she will be teething...give her a cold wash cloth to chew on...or those toys that you freeze...i've even froze the pacifiers so that they are cold when they suck on them (if she uses one)....she has all the signs of teething....just make sure that your giving her plenty of fluids because with diareha comes dehydration....give her soft foods and this too shall pass : )
