I live in Chicago and have been looking for a home-based daycare for my baby for when I return to work. He will be 3 months old at that time. So far, I have visited 3 places. One place was only $175 a week but it was dirty and rundown. The other two were nice and clean but charged $250-$300 per week.

Is it really going to cost me $1000-$1200 per month to go back to work? It seems like so much! I will pay it of course, because I want him to be with someone I trust, but still...that is more than I pay in rent for my two-bedroom apartment!

P.S. I put a vicks vaporizor by his bed. I have nose drops to get the mucus out too.

Hi, I was wondering how you tell if you have dropped or lightening has occured? I have read that your uterus should be two or three inches below your ribs if it has occured. Does this mean when you are standing or sitting or both? When I stand, there is definitely 2-3 inches more room, my pelvis hurts sometimes and sometimes I get sharp pains behind my pubic bone, which I have read could be the babys head pushing down or turning. However, when I sit, it feels like my uterus is still up high. I dont have problems breathing and I dont get heartburn or indigestion so I cant use those things as a tool for figuring this out. I also tried to measure my fundal height but I dont know how accurate Im doing it. When I lay down it measures about 32cm-33cm. That could be a sign Im either doing it wrong or that the baby has dropped or that the baby is in a different position so I cant say for sure. Im in my 37th week and I have an appt this wednesday. What are your thoughts?

I am consistent with her and always give her a consequence if she plays up but she keeps going out and not telling me where she is she's done it again today gone missing with a friend all day comes in so i've taken everything off her hair products makeup etc but I'm wondering what else to do I've tried everything never shouting always try to talk to her now i'm at a loss don't know how I can make her learn, any other ideas that aren't the usual ones as they don't seem to work. Thanks.

I had sexual contact on April 29. I took plan B 36 hours later and had bleeding like a period on May 9. I have experienced bleeding on June 9 and July 10 for my periods of those two months.. I have gained about 10 pounds since this happened in April. I'm afraid that I could be pregnant. I took a pregnancy test around May 20 and it was negative. I plan to take another one after I get other people's opinions because I don't want to "waste money." Do you think I could be pregnant?

Seriously, my husband and I have been trying for a few months without luck...we're trying during fertile times and taking care of ourselves...

my mom asked me if i ever had a baby (TTC #1 now) if i wanted to know the gender. i said i would cuz then you dont have to buy everything that could be for a boy or girl. i want to buy stuff i accuzlly want for my baby and have time to think of a name and not 2 (boy.girl) she acted like it was almost wrong to know you babys gender before it was born. cuz back in her day when she was preg and other people they didnt have this tecnology. i just wanted to know what you did? did you want to know i the gender or not and why?

I'm 10dpo, just got a negative hpt, no symptoms except for mildly sore boobs, and a *slight* case of the sniffles/sneezing. No implantation spotting. No cramps.

I'm starting to feel like this month is a bust. Sigh.

i lost my baby at 6 weeks, didnt even have a chance to process the information that i was going to have a baby. it wasnt planned but we would have kept it. my fiance and i were both devastated at the time but he seems to have dealt with it alot better than i have. it still upsets me... any advice?

He has gotten to that age where if he doesn't want something he will shake his head no. I know he needs to drink more milk though. Please any suggestions would be helpful..Thanks

At one time, you couldn't know the sex of a baby until it was born . These days, a doctor can find out the sex of an unborn baby . Many parents would rather not know if it's a boy or a girl until it's born . I say you shouldn't know if it's a boy or a girl until the baby's born . I've known people who say they should know so they can shop for the baby . NOW -- How can you shop for an unborn baby if you'd rather not know if it's a boy or a girl until the it's born ? I know some of the questions are stupid or seem silly and ignorant but some people are scared or young and looking for genuine information. *I* know that you can't believe everything you read but some people don't. SO why is it alot of people answer with dangerous misinformation...how hard is to look up real info and back it up with where they found that info? Or say I have heard instead of stating it like its absolutely a fact?

My husband and I had unprotected sex the day of ovulation (according to those ovulation calendars and cervical mucus). We stopped using birth control and haven't been actively trying for a baby (using ovulation kits and taking temperatures) but we both would love for me to be pregnant. I know those ovulation calendars can be iffy...I used one that took the history of my last four periods. I know I have to wait to see if I miss a period (due in 5 days) but my hubby keeps asking if I could be pregnant and I don't know how much of a possibility is there. Anyone know how our odds could be? Thanks so much!

Just wondering if anyone out there has any enfamil or similac coupons that they dont need. My husband and I do not qualify for wic and my son is in need of a hypoallergenic formula. It is gonna kill us financially. I would appreciate it. I did sign up on both websites but they only sent 1 coupon each.

I have a lot of cervical mucus, but there is no odor, I don't itch down there either and my period is only two days late. I don't want to get excited yet- but I'm not sure if I should take anything if it isn't an infection and is actually pregnancy. Is there any way besides an HPT test to tell the difference? I just had a miscarriage 2 months ago :( and my hormones are all messed up so the HPT wouldn't be accurate. Thanks much

I feed him expressed breastmilk, 4 ounces/every 3-4 hrs.He gets around 17ounces from the bottle. He feeds twice at night directly and as such dunno how much he gets. I have tried giving him more , but he just won;t drink anymore. I tried reducing the duration b/w feeds and increasing the qty. But somehow he evens it out to 17oz. He is gaining weight /height and is actually in the 95% percentile in both as per his 4 month chekup. Most sites i see mention 25-34ounces/milk for his age. I am concerned if his not drinking enough milk will cause any other issues.

He also gets 1 tablespoon of cereal (mixed with 0.5oz of breastmilk) twice a day since the last 3 weeks.
