Yes, men have it too. It does hurt when you pee which worried me as I lived in Pattaya, Thailand at that time. I also had little bits of white protein in my pee.The doctor gave me some tablets which turned my pee blood red and told me to stop eating meat for awhile. It cleared up after a week or so.

Protein in your water could just mean that you arent drinking enough water. And if you have been experiencing some burning while peeing, then you may have a Urinary Tract Infection. Both of these symptoms are connected, because if you do not drink sufficient water, a side effect can be a UTI. You need to try to see the dr soon, because if left untreated, it can get very painful and may eventually spread to the bladder. If you are looking for relief right now, drink cranberry juice and lots of water. Stay away from teas and sodas, as this will irritate the infection worse. Cranberry juice will actually get rid of the infection, but since you are pregnant and under a dr's care anyways, may as well use antibiotics. And make sure to drink 8 glasses of WATER a day.

It is not normal to have pain while urinating. You are more likely getting a urinary tract infection which needs to be treated by an antibiotic. Call your doctor and set up an appointment. All you have to do is pee in a cup and they can detect any white or red blood cells which would confirm a UTI. If not treated UTIs can become kidney infections which are serious.

I don't know that it's supposed to hurt! I had protien in my urine and there was no difference, no pain when peeing. You may want to just let your doctor know that you're having pain when peeing.

protein in your urine does not feel like anything, it is caused when your kidneys are not functioning properly due to elevated blood pressure... if you are having pain when urinating, it is most likely cause by a UTI.
