My husband and I had unprotected sex the day of ovulation (according to those ovulation calendars and cervical mucus). We stopped using birth control and haven't been actively trying for a baby (using ovulation kits and taking temperatures) but we both would love for me to be pregnant. I know those ovulation calendars can be iffy...I used one that took the history of my last four periods. I know I have to wait to see if I miss a period (due in 5 days) but my hubby keeps asking if I could be pregnant and I don't know how much of a possibility is there. Anyone know how our odds could be? Thanks so much!

Also, I don't a ton of symptoms. My breasts are very tender, but they have been like this the last three months about a week and a half before my period. I'm also exhausted no matter how much sleep I get but we got a brand new bed (a pillow top king!!!) and I could be adjusting. Other than that, I feel normal.

For a healthy fertile couple the normal success rate for getting pregnant is only around 15-20%, so it's not uncommon to take some time to conceive. But the problem is accurately identifying this fertile time as it varies from woman to woman and also in individuals. It usually happens about two weeks before the period, but it could be earlier or later. If you want to get pregnant, there are two ways to time sex to coincide with the fertile time. One way is to have sex every day. If you are too tired for this, take your temperature every morning at the same time before you get out of bed and record it carefully. While your temperature will vary slightly from day to day, it will rise sharply by about 0.2 degrees C and stay up at the time of ovulation. That's the time. Some women can also feel the time of ovulation by a change in the way they feel inside, or by bleeding slightly.

chances are probably quite high as you had intercourse on or around your ovulation date. Although, it may not happen right away just because you hit ovulation...

my husband and I (both in 20s and healthy) have been trying for 3 months and have not yet conceived. we were told that even if we hit ovulation, it could take up to a year for a healthy couple. Keep trying!!! good luck!
