Pregnancy & Parenting - 23 July 2007

We are due to have our second child in early November 2007 and I still have a travel system (carriage and car seat combo) by Graco that we purchased with our first child. That was in August 2003. Is there a way to find out if this seat is still considered to be safe by current year standards? I have searched all over the labels to see if there is an "expiration date" on the car seat and found no date other than when it was manufactured. I no longer have the manual that came with the system. I have also throughly examined the seat and base and there is no visable wear on any of the bars, belts or pieces. Please help.

I can only have c-section and my husband and I are trying to have another baby. We are wondering if anyone knew if maybe my daughter could join us in the delivery room while I have a c-section.

Ok, I am confused. I keep hearing that their is a huge problem with obesity in the U.S. (esp. in children) and that something should be done about it but when a teen asks a question about how to HEALTHILY lose weight they are told that they are too young to be watching their weight. We're being told two different things. What do they want us to do?

I've heard that tightly rolling up towels and placing them under the crib mattress (i.e. two side by side where the baby lays between) is a good way to position an infant without SIDS risk. Has this worked for anyone?

would that be smart to get pregnant at 14 with a 16 year old. just to make your parents let you see eachother. they recently got into trouble and no longer are allowed to see eachother and the girl wants to get pregnant so they can see eachother. is that smart? what could go wrong?

My cousin is only 16 yrs. old & she put her MySpace username as, "I'm the reason to hate & why your man comes home late."

If you think about it really deeply, she REALLY thinks she's grown, and that username sounds like it's inviting predators to take advantage of her.

It seems silly because we have only been trying for over a month and I know it can take healthy couples up to a year to conceive. Hi My middle daughter is 4 years old and she has been fully dry since she was about 2 and a half, but recently she has taking to peeing herself. She knows she is doing it because she will stop what she is doing and like squat and pee in her clothes and then make a fuss when I try to clean her up. She also has started peeing at night again as well and he bed has been wet every night for about 2 weeks and last night i let her into mine (was her mommys night out) so I let her in my bed with me and we were reading a story and she just lay in the bed and peed in her pjs, she didnt even move or say she needed to she just lay there and peed the bed. I am at my wits end with it, its driving me crazy because I dont know why she is doing it and I can understand what her problem is. I have an appointment booked with my dr, but because I want her to see a female dr and there is only one at my practice she has to wait two weeks mean while she is continuing to pee herself.

I have been ttc for almost 2 years. I am on cycle 2 of clomid and have been putting off charting bbt (too tired and cranky in the morning to check temp, lol!). At this point I am desperate and will try anything. What is the easiest, most user-friendly internet site for learning how to track bbt? What are you ladies using? Any tips/advice? I already use OPK's that work, so is charting even necessary?

Would you like to know some symptoms that could mean pregnancy during the 2 weeks wait? I've read many questions about early symptoms before you miss your period. I couldn't remember any from my last pregnancy, but I wasn't paying attention before my period was due either. Well I've been paying close attention these last few months while trying for another baby, and I got my positve result 2 days ago. I definitely had some signs this time that I though I'd share to whoever wants to know them.

1-6 days past ovulation: nothing as expected since the fertilized egg doesn't implant until at least the 6th day.

7-10 dpo: I got really gassy. Even my husband made a comment. I researched and found that other women had experienced this too really early.

11-13 dpo: I started getting really tired mid-day, more than usual and took naps everyday. On day 12 I started having to urinate really frequently, enough to where I though I had a UTI.

okay well i am over 4 months late since last tuesday july 17,and i scheduled an appt. today for planning for parenthood for next friday for a blood test, i have taken 4 home pregnancy test and they were all negative so i am hoping nothing is wrong but i was wondering if anyone out there is having the same problem or had a problem like that, as me with negavtive tests but turned out to be pregant. i am more tired than usual and i feel like i have been peeing alot and my boyfriend said i look like i am starting to get bigger like more round in the stomach but just a little so if anyone could help me that would be great bc we are kind of hoping for a postive on the test :)

I used to use drugs, I have been clean and sober for about 4 years I have been employed the ENTIRE time, am in a solid relationship, and we own our own business, aside from me having a full time job....

My 3 1/2 month old is having surgery on a hernia. He can't eat after midnight the night before his surgery. We need to have him at the hospital between 6 and 7:00 am. He can usually go 5 hours without eating again, but not 6 hours. Does anybody have any suggestions on what I can do to get him through the night without eating. Should I ask my doctor for some kind of medicine that will help him sleep through the night? The reason I'm so concerned is that we are staying in a hotel. If we were at my house I wouldn't be that concerned.
