I was expecting my period (based on an online calender) on July 21. However, I had what suspect may have been implantation bleeding on the 9th-11th (it was far too light to be my period). I took a test today (23rd) and it is negative, am I testing too soon? Should I wait? If so, how long?

I should add, I haven't had any symptoms of either AF or being preggers.

As well, I have been using OPKs and never saw a positive (even when I was spotting). I think I may have started too late.

If you had implantation bleeding between the 9th-11th, you would have tested positive for pregnancy today. Implantation bleeding happens at the end of implantation, which takes several days. This usually equates to 7-10DPO. Some women test positive at 10DPO, others at 12DPO, and most by 14DPO. So, you should have tested positive by now if you ovulated when you think you did.

However, if you didn't ovulate on time, that would throw everything off...your period and your ability to test positive would all be pushed back. Assuming you ovulated late, your period would now be due later too, or a pregnancy test would not turn up positive yet. If you don't get your period by this Saturday (a week after you were originally due) take another pregnancy test.

Good luck.

My period was due the 21st, and I used a really cheap test that wasn't sensitive and got a positive, and didn't use first morning urine. My guess is that you ovulated late this cycle, and maybe you were spotting from that. That would cause your period to appear late, when in fact it's not due for a few days. Wait another couple of days, and test again.

I would wait another week or so to see if maybe your period is just lagging behind you this month. Hopefully not! Good luck!
